Emojiland has officially opened off-Broadway! The new musical will run through Sunday, March 8, 2020 at The Duke on 42nd Street in New 42nd Street Studios (229 West 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues).

Obviously, it would be foolish to expect anything resembling high art from a musical comedy titled Emojiland, which not only attaches bodies to those expressive emotion-summarizing faces from social media and texting but brings them to singing-and-dancing life. But even shows that aspire to little more than silly junk-food fun should be sprinkled with some degree of cleverness.

In all a dozen numbers that kept the laughs coming and had the audience doubled over slapping their knees and tables and winding up in total hilarious agreements about that man falling into the sewer and DYING! Mel Brooks himself would have been proud hearing his songs being given such treatment by gifted Broadway vets and up-and-comers and the night made for a Monday that ended with a BANG and for that BANG Bobby gives 54 CELEBRATES MEL BROOKS! A solid 4 out of 5 rainbows. On Monday, January 13th, Feinstein's/54 Below presented a one-night only, sold out concert evening to honor the hilarious, iconic Mensch of comedy, Mel Brooks.

Broadway talents including Stark Sands (Kinky Boots), Kate Rockwell (Mean Girls), and Constantine Maroulis (Jekyll & Hyde, 'American Idol') complete the starry lineup for the next installment of the acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series, honoring the iconic rock band Queen on February 17 at Sony Hall. Cast members from Broadway shows including The Tina Turner Musical, Waitress and Head Over Heels will sing completely new arrangements of the hits of the British rock band, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations of their music.

Arborhouse Productions and Visceral Entertainment today announced that EMOJILAND will be partnering with TodayTix to offer a limited number of $25 tickets via an exclusive digital lottery for every performance. The lottery will open for entries at midnight each performance day, beginning Thursday, January 9, 2020 and will close four hours prior to the selected performance time. If selected, winners will have 30 minutes to claim and pay for their tickets through TodayTix. Tickets may be picked up at The Duke on 42nd Street box office one hour prior to performance time. The Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation has announced the first group of guests of 2020 for their popular 'Live at the Lortel' podcast focused on Off-Broadway.

Tuesday night at The Green Room 42 in New York City, Michael Longoria's Holiday Hop brought Christmas cheer to benefit Opening Act. The one night only concert was produced by Michael Longoria, Liz Skollar of Skollar PR and Taylor James of 42West PR as a benefit for the students of Opening Act, an organization that seeks to level the playing field for students by specifically partnering with NYC schools that have lower than average graduation rates (as few as 33% of students graduating in four years) and an evident lack of theater programming. 

Arborhouse Productions & Visceral Entertainment today released a sneak peek of conceptual renderings for the new musical EMOJILAND by scenic designer David Goldstein and projection designers Lisa Renkel & POSSIBLE. The images vibrantly showcase the connection between the show's inherently technological setting and its advanced scenic, lighting, and projection design. EMOJILAND has allowed the production's design team to step outside the walls of traditional theatrical design to immerse the audience in the pixelated world within a smartphone.
