Hello, gorgeous! As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Lea Michele doesn't begin performances in Funny Girl on Broadway until tonight, September 6, but we already have a first look at the new Fanny Brice in costume. Check out pre-production images of Michele as Fanny Brice.

Funny Girl gets new funny ladies tonight! Lea Michele will star as 'Fanny Brice' and Tovah Feldshuh will star as 'Mrs. Brice,' alongside Tony & Olivier Award nominee Ramin Karimloo as 'Nick Arnstein'. The production will invite critics back to the show, but not for a few weeks, after the pair has had a “brief time to perform together.” 

On Tuesday, September 13th, Drew takes the show on the road to join Katy Perry on-site at her Las Vegas residency, PLAY. Drew will continue to go on-location at New York’s August Wilson Theater for an exclusive sit-down with “Funny Girl” star Lea Michele, who shares what it’s been like landing her dream role of Fanny Brice.

Julie Benko appeared on CBS Mornings to discuss her 'big break' in Funny Girl on Broadway Barbra Streisand's 'shadow,' and recent backstage rumors regarding the show's casting. Lea Michele took to Instagram to share a short clip of her in rehearsals for Funny Girl. The short clip features Michele tap dancing at the end of a musical number in the show. All new production photos have been released of 'Fanny Brice' standby Julie Benko in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl! Julie Benko will perform the title role beginning tonight through Sunday, September 4, 2022 and on Thursdays beginning Thursday, September 8, 2022.

Beanie Feldstein is ending her run starring as Fanny Brice in Broadway's FUNNY GIRL today, July 31st. She is the production's first original cast member to depart. Standby Julie Benko will take over the role through September 4 and before the much anticipated performance of Lea Michele as Fanny Brice beginning September 6.
