With topics that span genres --  from provocative reimaginings of the American dream to  visionary and epic supernatural dramas-- the scope of this year's projects, along with the diverse backgrounds of their creators, speaks to the Institute's broad and visionary support of the episodic format as the industry develops and grows; the Episodic Lab is the centerpiece of the Institute's year-round support program for emerging television writers.

Today's conversation is with Emmy Award and multiple NAACP Image Award-winning film, television and stage veteran Joe Morton. Morton is perhaps best known for his role as Rowan Pope in the television series 'Scandal.' Morton's television credits include a recurring role as lawyer Daniel Golden on 'The Good Wife,' on the Network; five seasons as scientist Henry Deacon in the Emmy-nominated series 'Eureka'; 'The Cosby Show' spinoff 'A Different World'; the Kyra Sedgwick-produced 'Proof'; and 'Grace & Frankie.' In 2016 he portrayed the role of Roy Wilkins alongside Bryan Cranston in the Emmy-nominated biopic 'All the Way,' adapted from the Tony Award-winning Robert Schenkkan play.

ReFrame, a collaborative initiative of WIF LA and Sundance Institute, announced the inaugural class of ReFrame Rise directors at the 2019 Women In Film Annual Gala on Wednesday, June 12 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce Walker Vreeland's FROM SHIP TO SHAPE will be performed one night only on Monday, June 10 at 7 pm. The show comes to the East End following an extended sold-out run Off-Broadway. The solo performance stars and is written by award-winning radio personality Walker Vreeland. The show is a compelling autobiographical monologue and includes songs performed by Mr. Vreeland.
