Cleveland Play House (CPH) has been awarded a grant through the Assistance for Arts Education Development and Dissemination Grants Program (AAEDD), which will provide $2 million to continue and expand Compassionate Arts Remaking Education (CARE) over the next four years.  CPH, in partnership with the Cleveland Municipal School District, will add an additional six teachers, and expand to a total of 10 schools and reach over 4,100 students with CARE.

The gala will include dinner and dancing, a live auction and an exciting theatrical presentation.  CPH's annual benefit, two-time winner of Currents Magazine's Black Tie Award, promises to be another not-to-be-missed party.

Perfect Arrangement, directed by B.J. Cleveland runs August 24 - September 2 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater.

FotoFocus, the Cincinnati-based non-profit arts organization that champions photography and lens-based art, is proud to announce new programming details for the fourth FotoFocus Biennial-the largest biennial of its kind in America. The FotoFocus Biennial takes place this October, across more participating venues than ever, spanning over 80 museums, galleries, and universities across Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton, and Columbus, Ohio, and featuring over 250 artists, curators, and educators.

This June, The Human Race Theatre Company (HRTC) is celebrating the Bard with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised]. Get ready for a show like no other. It's an irreverent, roller-coaster ride with the Bard that will leave you breathless with laughter as three incredibly talented actors take on all 38 of his plays in just 97 minutes… with a good amount of creative editing. Part improve-run-amok, part audience participation, all delightfully absurd, this merry mashup leaves no funny bone untickled and features a comic troupe lead by one of Ohio's finest Shakespearean actors, Human Race Resident Artist Bruce Cromer.

The Human Race Theatre Company (HRTC) is proud to introduce the lineup for its 2018-2019 Eichelberger Loft Series - a five-show collection of works that examines specific moments in history-real and imaginary, corrects ancient history and revisits a part of the company's own history. The season, featuring one fierce musical and four engaging plays, begins September 6, 2018. In addition to the fully-produced works on the Loft Series, HRTC is launching a new Monday Night Playreading Series with the table readings of three diverse, crowd-pleasing scripts.

Before writer/director Aaron Sorkin became best known for tv shows like The West Wing and Newsroom and movies such as The Social Network and Steve Jobs, he penned a stage play that may be more famous as a movie. Sorkin worked on the movie version of his script for A Few Good Men, a play which has more than stood the test of time as a highly entertaining piece of theater that also raises important themes surrounding power, who wields it, and how they use it. It's also getting a first-rate production right now at the Pollard Theatre in Guthrie.

The Human Race Theatre Company is proud to present Broadway leading lady and three-time Tony Award nominee, Rebecca Luker, in a special concert appearance as she performs many of The Great White Way's greatest songs written by Golden Age legends Jerome Kern, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Jule Styne, Stephen Sondheim and more, along with newer tunes from some of today's hottest theatre composers. Ms. Luker will be accompanied on the piano by her music director, longtime Human Race collaborator Joseph Thalken.

Dropping its audience of just 50 a show into the middle of an adventure in which they are trained in the art of the con, participants will meet characters, solve clues and get a masterclass in the ways of the grifter, all in the interest pulling off one final swindle to take down a seamy criminal mastermind. They will have their intelligence tested and get trained in scams like The Pig In The Poke, The Round-The Corner, and The Money Swap…but in the end will they be sharp enough to take down an evil genius at his own game? An experience unlike anything ever performed on a stage, The Grift will sweep its audience into a thrilling adventure, turning everyday theatergoers into master con men. And when the show ends? They'll be released back into the world with a whole new skill set-one that can pay off for years to come.
