On the Sango and WAXROOF produced soulful and bounce-worthy track, Dave B teams with another young Northwest hip-hop artist Romaro Franceswa for an uplifting song about escaping negativity.

Comedy Central, the #1 brand in comedy, Superfly, the founders of Bonnaroo, and Outside Lands co-producer Another Planet Entertainment, today announced the annual Up Next showcase at Comedy Central Presents Clusterfest. The weekend will highlight 18 comedians with two separate and distinct stand-up showcases taking place on Friday, June 21 and 22 and a variety showcase on Saturday, June 22. All shows will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium  in the Larkin room.

Filmmakers from the U.S., Lebanon, Palestine, and the United Kingdom have been selected for the 2019 Sundance Institute Directors and Screenwriters Labs, taking place at the Sundance Mountain Resort in Utah. At the Directors Lab (May 27-June 18), filmmakers will rehearse, shoot, and edit key scenes from their scripts, working in an immersive, hands-on environment with support from accomplished advisors to build their craft as directors and make key discoveries in collaboration with their actors and key crew. Immediately following, the Screenwriters Lab (June 20-24) provides the opportunity to process the insight gained from the Directors Lab through one-on-one story sessions with screenwriter advisors, and find inspiration and guidance for continued development of their screenplays.

Today, The Last Poets released their new song “ A.M. Project” from their Jamaaladeen Tacuma-produced album Transcending Toxic Times (out tomorrow via Ropeadope). So far the full length has been praised by Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Complex, Glide, and Billboard, who described “A.M. The 17th Annual Independent Music Awards nominees have been announced, and Alienman, the latest release from Dallas-based shredder STONE MECCA, has been nominated for Best Album in the Funk/Fusion/Jam category. Additionally, his provocative visual for album track 'Boogeyman,' which premiered at Billboard in January, was nominated for Best Video in the Social Action category. The ceremony will be held in New York City on June 21st and 22nd.
