On Friday, December 11, Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre will celebrate a first in its 52-year history when a musical it premiered in 2016 makes its film debut on NETFLIX.  The Alliance’s world premiere production of THE PROM delighted Atlanta audiences and quickly transferred to Broadway.

The pair, who star alongside Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and James Corden in the new movie musical, also share the special holiday desserts that they love to bake.

James Corden asks Meryl Streep to take part in Late Late Show & Tell, and Meryl unveils her sewing kit from 1967, which includes a magazine that contains lots of interesting nuggets for the modern woman of the time.

Tonight belongs to all of us, as Netflix's highly-anticipated adaptation of The Prom has finally arrived! It's almost time to dance! In just days, the magic of The Prom will live again on screen thanks to Netflix. With an all-star cast including Meryl Streep, James Corden, Kerry Washington, Andrew Rannells, Nicole Kidman, Keegan Michael Key, Ariana DeBose and Jo Ellen Pellman, the highly-anticipated film is an adaptation of the 2018 Broadway musical of the same name.

I approached Ryan Murphy’s film adaptation of THE PROM, expertly crafted for the stage by writers Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin and composer Matthew Sklar, with a lot of trepidation. Fortunately, most of my fears were misplaced and the final product is a joyous, technicolor celebration of living authentically that tugs all the right heartstrings while tickling every funny bone.
