Actors Fund announces today it is hosting its first "Celebrity Paddle Battle", a one-night-only benefit evening on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 6:30-9:30 pm at SPiN New York (48 East 23rd St. NYC 10010). event is hosted in part by The Actors Fund's Young Professionals Committee and will support the programs and services of The Actors Fund. This will be a fun evening of ping pong, a 3-hour open bar, light fare and a chance for guests (age 21+) to mingle and play a game or two with performers from stage and screen.
Disney Theatrical Productions just celebrated its first stage-to-television collaboration with the Disney Channel in adapting its original stage musical Freaky Friday for a worldwide televised premiere on the Disney Channel on Friday, August 10th.
The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the return of Broadway singer/actor Max von Essen in concert last night, July 23. Max von Essen, currently starring in the hit Broadway production of Anastasia, returned with his old fashioned, new show celebrating the best of Broadway and the American songbook. Once again, Billy Stritch was musical director for the evening, with Steve Doyle on bass, Daniel Glass on drums, and Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf on cello.
This August, the acclaimed concert series Broadway Sings will begin a one-year residency at The Green Room 42 presenting the spin-off Broadway Sings: Unplugged. The series will feature Broadway favorites including Jelani Alladin (Frozen), Corey Cott (Bandstand), Ben Fankhauser (Newsies), Amber Iman(Shuffle Along), Aisha Jackson (Frozen), Corey Mach (Kinky Boots), Tiffany Mann (Waitress), and Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture).
