Southern California’s premier theatre company, Musical Theatre West has announced the cast and crew for the upcoming Tony Award-Winning Disney musical, Newsies.

Musical Theatre West (MTW), Long Beach’s premier theater company, will make musical magic with its spring show, An American in Paris. Known for its Broadway-caliber productions, MTW will debut the latest rendition of the 1951 movie musical for the first time on the West Coast.

For 10 select weekends between June 4 and September 26, the sounds of music and memories will grace the Playhouse’s vintage patio. Seated at socially distanced tables of twos and fours, the patio comes alive seating 100 patrons for each of our four weekend performances — Fridays 5:00p, Saturdays 2:30 and 5:00p, and Sundays at 7:00p.

On the heels of a successful summer launch of their On-Line Academy, Ogunquit Playhouse and their new Arts Colony theatre education center have unveiled 14 new courses and workshops for the Fall semester. Professional teaching artists from Broadway, National tours, and leading Regional theaters lead this diverse set of programming, designed for online delivery to groups of 10, to ensure students receive the individual time and attention the work deserves.

Since April, MusicalFare Theatre has presented Livestreaming Cabarets every Third Thursday of the month. Collectively, those cabarets have had thousands of people watching from home - not just from from WNY, but from all over the country and the world!

Continuing their mission of curating history by bringing back ghosts of musical theatre past in staged concert performances, F/54B wisely chose the Zellniks' beautiful patchwork quilt of pastiche, put it on their tiny stage and gave friends, fans, and a few newbies a look back at a show that looks back at a time when MGM musicals offered wholesome family entertainment and real soldiers did a lot of foot-tapping... but weren't dancing.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, will present a special celebratory concert to mark the 10th anniversary of the musical Yank! opening off-Broadway. The Ogunquit Playhouse production of Annie is helmed by Broadway Director/Choreographer James A. Rocco. The cast includes Josie Todd as Annie, Emmy nominee Robert Newman as Oliver Warbucks, and Broadway veterans Angie Schworer as Lily St. Regis, Jeffry Denman as Rooster Hannigan, and Gail Bennett as Grace Farrell.

Broadway's Ruth Gottschall has returned to the seacoast to step into the role of Miss Hannigan in the Ogunquit Playhouse production of Annie now on stage at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
