Mark Goucher is joining forces with first time producer Jason Donovan to create a brand new production of the much-loved glittering hit musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Birmingham Hippodrome kicked off its 120th birthday celebrations at a Season Taster event this week, which featured a selection of guests from its diverse upcoming season, a sneak preview of some 120 year highlights and a new birthday visual identity.

Mark Goucher and first-time producer Jason Donovan have today announced that actor and Strictly Come Dancing winner Joe McFadden will star in their brand-new production of the much-loved glittering hit musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. The producers have also announced today that the tour will continue through 2020. The show, which was announced last year, will tour the UK and Ireland from September 2019. It marks Donovan's first time as a producer, having performed in the cast of the original West End production and two subsequent UK tours. The producing team is completed by Gavin Kalin and Matthew Gale. Priscilla, Queen of the Desert will preview in Dartford from 5 September 2019.

This iconic musical has been visiting theatres across the country throughout 2018, performing to sell-out houses and receiving standing ovations.

The show makes a perfect vehicle for Donovan to begin his life as a producer, having performed in the cast of the original West End production and two subsequent UK tours. The producing team will be completed by Gavin Kalin and Matthew Gale. The production will open in Dartford in September 2019 and will arrive at Theatre Royal Brighton for Christmas 2019, running between Tuesday 17 December 2019 and Saturday 4 January 2020 with tickets on sale from today. The production will have a Press Night in Brighton on Wednesday 18 December.

Comedian Dom Joly, actress Beverley Callard, TV presenter Alison Hammond, comedian Steve Punt and actor Philip Franks will star as The Narrator in the 2018/9 UK tour of The Rocky Horror Show. The five stars will take to the stage to perform the iconic role at various moments during the new national tour of the show, which opens at Theatre Royal Brighton this December and then travels across the country until November 2019. More celebrity narrators will be announced over the coming months.

This critically-acclaimed stunning new production is now back by public demand and returns for a 12 month UK tour starting at Theatre Royal Brighton on 13 December 2018.

Lucas Rush's past work includes American Idiot, We Will Rock You, Grease and Les Miserables. He's currently playing Lonny in the UK tour of Eighties-tastic musical Rock of Ages, alongside a cast that includes Danielle Hope, Jodie Steele, Strictly's Kevin Clifton, and Antony Costa.
