Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller and Jill Furman, the producers of the 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights, announced today that Justina Machado will take over the role of ?Daniela? for 8 weeks only from Monday, June 29, through Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Broadway?s Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street).

New York: Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Producing Artistic Director; Rosetta LeNoire, Founder), will celebrate its 40th Anniversary with a Benefit Gala on Monday, March 30th, 2009. The evening will feature a special 'Blast from the Past' concert of songs and numbers from four decades of Amas Musicals, including Bubbling Brown Sugar, Zanna Don't!, Barrio Babies, Bobos, SHOUT! The Mod Musical, Four Guys Named Jose, Latin Heat, Starmites, Langston Hughes's Little Ham, From My Hometown, Lone Star Love, and Wanda's World. The director and choreographer for the evening is Amas Artist-in-Residence Maria Torres, with musical direction by Doug Oberhamer. The event will take place at the Lighthouse International, 111 East 59th Street, at 7pm.

Speaker Christine Quinn and NYC Councilmember Miguel Martinez and Councilmember Robert Jackson will present the Proclamation to IN THE HEIGHTS' producer Jill Furman and composer/leading actor Lin-Manuel Miranda for the show's success in introducing millions of people to the vibrant neighborhood and its residents situated at the top of the island of Manhattan. The event will take place on Thursday December 18th in the City Hall Chambers.
