MCC Theater announced today its new streaming platform MCC On Demand, launching October 28. MCC On Demand will be a one-stop streaming platform for on demand access to MCC's virtual content. Subscribers will be able to login and have immediate access to content available in their subscription.

Tony time is here at last! Filmmaker and founder of ARRAY, AvaDuVernay will accept the inaugural Marian MacDowell Arts Advocacy Award during MacDowell's Virtual National Benefit on October 19, 2020. MacDowell Fellow and Madame Chairman of the Board Nell Painter will host a free evening that features presentations from MacDowell Fellows in theater, poetry, film, and music.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a?oePlayhouse at the Drive-in,a?? a one-night-only benefit event and screening of special filmed performances and a short-form documentary celebrating the theater's 90-season history, on Saturday, October 17, at the Remarkable Theater Drive-in, 47 Imperial Ave., Westport. 

Though final eligibility determinations have not yet been announced, word from industry insiders is that the cutoff will be February 19, 2020- meaning that two shows that opened before the Broadway shutdown will not be considered for nominations- Girl From the North Country and West Side Story. Today Monumental Women has announced that award-winning actors Jane Alexander, Viola Davis, America Ferrera, Rita Moreno, Zoe Saldana and Meryl Streep will portray Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton in 'Talking Statues' monologues that will accompany the Women's Rights Pioneers Monument

Red Bull Theater today announced the cast for their tenth annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes, featuring two brand new commissions from Jeremy O. Harris and Theresa Rebeck, alongside six brand new plays that have been selected from hundreds of open submissions from playwrights across the country.

MCC Theater will present the one act play The Sentinels, starring Jane Alexander, Katrina Lenk, Denée Benton, and Priscilla Lopez.

Second Stage Theater has released footage of Jane Alexander and James Cromwell in the opening scene of Bess Wohl's Grand Horizons, which opened at the Hayes Theater on January 23, 2020 and played through March 1. 

James Cromwell is currently starring in Grand Horizons on Broadway. Yesterday, February 27, he was honored with a portrait at Sardi's!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Grand Horizons will play its final performance today at The Hayes Theater, following 35 previews and 45 regular performances.

Second Stage Theater (Carole Rothman, President and Artistic Director) will hold a special book signing for the acclaimed children's book The Best At It following the Wednesday, February 26 2pm performance of GRAND HORIZONS at the Hayes Theater (240 W 44th Street). James Cromwell was a guest on Thursday's episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan to talk about the new play he stars in, Grand Horizons. During the interview, host Kelly Ripa mentioned that the show is based on a 'Gray Divorce,' to with Cromwell replied, 'Evidentally there's an epidemic of divorces for people in their 80s, which in some ways I can understand, having been married three times.'

Goodwill Cultural Ambassador Ronald Rand, recently returned from performing at Nairobi's National Theatre in The Kenya International Theater Festival, will celebrate his 20th year of touring, performing his celebrated solo play, LET IT BE ART! in a special performance presented by Tennessee Valley Art Association (TVAA) at The Ritz Theatre's Ritz Studio in Sheffield, Alabama on February 29th.
