Florida Rep's 2020 PlayLab Kicks Off November 5 With All-Virtual Festival

Florida Repertory Theatre's 2020 PlayLab Festival of New Works kicks off Nov. 5th at 7 PM with the virtual reading of 'Spay' by Madison Fiedler, and continues with LIVE virtual readings on Nov. 12, 19, Dec. 3, and 10. The Festival also includes a Playwrights' Panel on Dec. 11 at 3:30 PM, where the festival playwrights talk about their craft and take questions from the audience.
52nd Annual Equity Jeff Awards Nominations Announced

Ali Ewoldt (Phantom of the Opera) and Josh Dela Cruz (Blue's Clues & You, Aladdin) will star as Ella and Topher in the National Asian Artists Project (NAAP) presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella- In Concert, as part of its 'Rediscover Series' which explores classic American musicals, with professional artists of Asian descent, proving that great works of theater speak to all communities. Steppenwolf Theatre Company's 2019/20 season kicks off with a Chicago premiere by Lauren Yee, directed by Jesca Prudencio. Set in 1989, The Great Leap tells the story of Manford Lum, a local star of the sidewalk basketball courts of San Francisco's Chinatown who strongarms his way onto an American college team travelling to Beijing for a “friendship” game. Set amidst the friction of the post-Cultural Revolution era, The Great Leap keeps tensions high right up to the final buzzer.
