A new Off-Broadway play tracing the life of fashion visionary Alexander McQueen is set to premiere this fall. House of McQueen will begin previews on August 18, 2025,

The play, BOBBY AND THE CHIMPS, made its world premiere on April 3 and runs through April 12 at the Abbey Theater of Dublin (5600 Post Road in Dublin). In some ways, Phillips’ version of the debate of teaching evolution vs. creation is truer to life than its forerunner.

According to British playwright James Phillips, inspiration can be found anywhere: a photograph, a fragment of a story, a sentence, or in the case of BOBBY AND THE CHIMPS, a winetasting. Phillips’ play makes its world premiere April 3-6 and 10-13 at the Abbey Theater of Dublin (5600 Post Road in Dublin).

Hansen first joined the Board in 1992 and went onto serve two terms as Board President from 1995-1998 and 2011 – 2014.  During her tenure she helped navigate the theater through several major transitions, including the recruitment and onboarding of Executive Director Chad Bauman in 2013. 

NSDF will present its 65th Annual Festival with an industry leading programme of masterclasses, debates, discussions and new work. Every part of the Festival is free and open to all.

The Shubert Organization has announced the passing of its beloved Chairman Emeritus, Philip J. Smith. Mr. Smith passed away peacefully on January 15, 2021, in New York City at the age of 89. The cause of death was complications from Covid-19, confirmed by his daughters, Linda Phillips and Jennifer Stein.
