More than 112 years after RMS Titanic – then the largest ocean liner afloat – struck an iceberg and sank on April 15, 1912, during its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York, the public’s fascination with its tragic story remains unabated.

James Cameron’s Avatar was this weekend the latest to be screened at the Royal Albert Hall as part of their Films In Concert series.

Following on from a successful debut Off-Broadway, Marla Mindelle, Constantine Rousouli and Tye Blue’s (co writers, with Blue also Director) musical comedy tribute to Celine Dion and James Cameron’s cinema hit, TITANIQUE THE MUSICAL is delighting Sydney audiences.

Avatar the Last Airbender-In Concert “blew” into the Hershey Theatre on Thursday, August 8th and was met with “thunderous” applause. Audience members were treated to a giant movie screen playing scenes from the “fiery” series, accompanied by a very talented, yet “grounded” live orchestra.  As you might be able to guess, Avatar (no connection to the James Cameron movies with the blue people) deals with a battle among the elements, and the people who have control over them.

Russell Crowe will once more have his vengeance – in this life or the next – as Gladiator returns to the Royal Albert Hall for a 25th anniversary screening, as part of the venue's Films in Concert series.

TITANIC ON ICE: THE MUSICAL is a cross between a semi-successful “Saturday Night Live (SNL)” skit and a ridiculous hour-long sketch from the old “Carol Burnett Show.” The script, adapted by Rob McLemore, includes all the memorable pot points from the film, plus every silly joke or sight gag that came to mind. The production had the feel of an improve troupe presenting a concept show based on an idea tossed out from the audience. It is plausible to think that during rehearsals the cast and crew collaborated to continue adding jokes and sight gags. 

The return of two local critical and popular hits from previous seasons in major new productions – Britta Johnson's musical LIFE AFTER and Crow's Theatre's Fifteen Dogs; the Canadian premiere of Indigenous playwright Larissa FastHorse's satirical comedy The Thanksgiving Play; and the homecoming of sorts of the hilarious new comedy featuring the songs of Canadian icon Céline Dion, Titanique, make up the 2024/25 Off-Mirvish Season. 

Overture Center for the Arts will present renowned underwater photojournalist and 2014 National Geographic Photography Fellow of the Year Brian Skerry presenting “Inside Secrets of the Whales” at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 in Capitol Theater, as the third and final presentation in Overture's three-part Changemaker Speakers Series.

The cast of Hale's TITANIC THE MUSICAL, directed by Cambrian James, is a true ensemble, highlighted by Maury Yeston’s score, operatic in style and epic in scope.

Orlando Fringe has announced the all-star lineup for its recurring 4-day winter festival FESTN4 (formerly known as Winter Mini-Fest) returning to Fringe ArtSpace January 11-14, 2024. 

The Coolidge Corner Theatre has announced the 2024 edition of its sci-fi signature series Projections, which features seminal classics and cult favorites from the world of science fiction, with this year's theme being: Robots!

Two titles have been announced for the Royal Albert Hall’s Films in Concert series in 2024 – Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark™ Live in Concert, and the world premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in Concert. 

TITANIC will be available nationwide in a two-disc set that includes the film on 4K Ultra HD, plus a Blu-ray Disc™ boasting more than five hours of new and legacy bonus content, including new interviews with James Cameron, star Kate Winslet, and producer Jon Landau.  The set also includes access to a Digital Ultra HD copy of the film.

Old Library Theatre (OLT), Fair Lawn Recreation Department's resident theatre company, will present TITANIC, THE MUSICAL, over two weekends, October 13th through October 22nd.

Lionsgate’s multi-Academy Award®-winning modern musical classic, La La Land, written and directed by Damien Chazelle, will be afforded the Films in Concert treatment at the Royal Albert Hall this December.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures announced their program An Evening with Arnold Schwarzenegger , an onstage conversation reflecting on the career of the iconic action star, politician, and bodybuilder in celebration of Schwarzenegger’s limited edition two-volume book, ARNOLD, published by TASCHEN.

The 4K UHD edition of the original Avatar has both existing and new bonus features including “Memories From Avatar,” where Producer Jon Landau leads a spirited conversation with cast members, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang, recalling warm memories from production.

James Cameron’s global phenomenon AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER will debut WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7 on Max, the enhanced streaming service from Warner Bros. Discovery that launches on May 23 in the U.S.
