The 10th annual DTLA Film Festival, Oct. 17-21 at Regal L.A. LIVE in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, announced its 2018 Filmmaker Awards. The two big prize winners were the gender and genre bending contemporary ghost story, "Ocatvio Is Dead!," which picked up the Best Picture and the Best Director awards for Sook-Yin Lee, and Collin Schiffli's drama "All Creatures Here Below," which won the Audience Favorite award and captured the Best Actor prizes for Karen Gillan and David Dastmalchian.

Back for a fourth season on The ABC Television Network, “The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition,” based on the hit U.K. series “The Great British Bake Off,” returns THURSDAY, DEC. 6 (9:00 – 11:00 p.m. EST). Showcasing bakers from around the country each week, the series puts their best recipes forward as they compete in holiday-themed challenges and eliminations, all hoping to be named America's Best Amateur Baker.

Burger lovers, rejoice-the James Beard Foundation will host the winners of the 2018 Blended Burger Project on Thursday, October 18. The project challenged chefs to blend mushrooms with meat to create a more delicious, nutritious, and environmentally sustainable blended burger.

“BASIC VERSUS BALLER: TRAVEL AT ANY COST” is the first long form original show from Tastemade that  will be launching exclusively on TastemadeTV, the company's new 24-hour linear channel on YouTubeTV.  The show follows the Vagabrothers around the globe in 10 episodes, with episode 1 shot in Hong Kong, China, premiering on October 26, 2018.  Following the premiere, it will air weekly on Thursdays through early January 2019 and will be supported by over 100 social assets to be distributed on Tastemade's global social channels.

Whet your appetite! ABC announced today that world-renowned chefs, authors, restaurateurs and television personalities Cat Cora and Graham Elliot will be serving up some knowledge as judges on the upcoming culinary competition series “Family Food Fight,” based on Australia's hit format.

“Modified,” a new award-winning documentary that tells the story of a very personal mother-daughter investigative journey into the complex world of genetically modified foods (GMOs), will be screening in Vermont in Middlebury and Montpelier in mid October during Food Week of Action. It will also be shown in Burlington at this year's Vermont International Film Festival.

Performance Space New York announces First Mondays: Readings of New Works in Progress, organized by author Sarah Schulman (Maggie Terry, 2018; Conflict is not Abuse: Overstating Harm, Community Responsibility and the Duty of Repair, 2016). On the first Monday of most months between October 2018 and May 2019, the series will present audiences with an opportunity to gather and hear in-progress works from writers leading the literary avant-garde. First Mondays exemplifies the artistic community-building power in Performance Space New York's appointment of five Associate Artists. Today, the organization announces Sarah Schulman, Emily Johnson, Gillian Walsh, Sarah Ortmeyer, and Angela Dimayuga as the Associate Artists who will actively contribute to programming and administrative decision making in the years to come-honoring Performance Space New York's roots as a space run by the very people experimenting within it.
