The Food Network Shares August 2018 Highlights

Food Network gets competitive this August testing contestants of all ages and abilities on their cooking, grilling and baking skills! Kicking off the action on Sunday, August 5th at 8pm is the premiere of Ultimate Summer Cook-Off hosted by Eddie Jackson and featuring six competitors taking on America's summertime favorites in a bid for the grand prize and backyard bragging rights. Then, it is the grand finale of Food Network Star when Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay crown the winner on Sunday, August 5th at 9pm. Then, a new season of Kids Baking Championship begins on Monday, August 6th at 9pm, when hosts Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman give nine young bakers the chance to compete for the title and $25,000 prize. Two serious summer competitions come to an epic close when a final winner is named on the season finales of Chopped: Grill Masters on Tuesday, August 28th at 9pm and The Great Food Truck Race on Thursday, August 30th at 9pm. Andrew Zimmern is keeping the food truck spirit alive as he searches the country for the most passionate food truck owners with a secret prize of $10,000 on the line in the all-new series Big Food Truck Tip premiering Wednesday, August 29th at 10pm. The seven-episode season brings bold new adventures in Zimmern's global culinary quest along some of history's most iconic routes, revealing the food and cultural impact on each region. On this leg, he samples deer haggis while traveling in the footsteps of William Wallace in Scotland, chows down on squirrel and pond frogs along the escape route of the Underground Railroad in northern Kentucky and dines on authentic World War II rations on the Battle of the Bulge site in Belgium.

LA Philharmonic Presents 2018 Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine Season

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association announced today details of the menus for the 2018 Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine season. Building on the success of last two summers with award-winning chef Suzanne Goin and business partner restaurateur Caroline Styne of The Lucques Group, and Sodexo Sports & Leisure, Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine promises exceptional dining for visitors to the iconic venue. Goin and Styne's culinary history has defined Los Angeles tastes since 1998 when they opened Lucques, their flagship restaurant. At the Hollywood Bowl, their California-inspired offerings, which include over 17 concepts, are created by four-time James Beard Foundation award-winner Suzanne Goin in tandem with the exceptional wine and beer programs curated by Caroline Styne, recent recipient of the Foundation's 2018 Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year award. Overseeing the broad range of dining options serving Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine's thousands of nightly guests is Sodexo Executive Chef Jeff Rogers.
