Christopher Koelsch, the Sebastian Paul and Marybelle Musco President and CEO of LA Opera, has announced details for the company's 2026/27 season, which will launch on October 17, 2026.

Teatro Lirico D'Europa will present the opera CARMEN at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts this Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 3pm. Set in Seville around the year 1830, Carmen tells a passionate story of love, jealousy, and betrayal. Carmen is Georges Bizet's most celebrated opera.

The Phoenix Chamber Ensemble, featuring pianists Vassa Shevel, Inessa Zaretsky, and guest Ellen Braslavsky, will present an evening of works by Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Schnittke, and Bizet.

Ballet Hispánico will bring a unique interpretation of Bizet's Carmen to Scottsdale on January 31, 2026, featuring choreography by Gustavo Ramírez Sansano.

On February 14, 2026, M.U.S.i.C. will present 'LOVE IS IN THE AIR,' a special Valentine's Day concert featuring chamber music performances by emerging talents. The event will take place in Pepper Pike, Ohio, offering a romantic evening of classical music.

The San Francisco Symphony has rescheduled its previously canceled Holiday Brass concert. The concert was previously scheduled during the Symphony's holiday season but was canceled due to the citywide power outages in San Francisco over the weekend.

The Dallas Opera (TDO) opens its 2025/2026 Season with the U.S. premiere of a new production celebrating the 150th anniversary of Georges Bizet’s iconic CARMEN opening on Friday, October 17, 2025. This production faithfully recreates the original Carmen from the 1875 premiere at the Opéra-Comique in Paris.

The ever popular and hardy perennial of the operatic canon, composer Georges Bizet’s Carmen, was given a unique yet solid interpretation by the Wolf Trap Opera under the direction of John de los Santos. (Originally directed by Anne Bogart, according to the program). This opera is so well-known (and almost ubiquitous)---that I could feel the palpable excitement in the audience as the opera was about to begin ---even on a hot and humid August evening at the cavernous Filene Center at Wolf Trap.
