Porchlight Music Theatre has staged a number of similar revues over the years, and I look back on those most fondly for the tremendous talent they have showcased. That could not be more true of director Kenny Ingram's production of Sheldon Epps's BLUES IN THE NIGHT.

Florida Repertory Theatre has announced an extension for its season-opener, “Let's Fall in Love: A World Premiere Cabaret Event.” Now playing through Nov. 21 in the ArtStage Studio Theatre, the cabaret evening stars Chicago-based singer, Evan Tyrone Martin alongside a live jazz band.

Florida Repertory Theatre has announced its reimagined 2021-2022 Season in the Historic Arcade Theatre and the ArtStage Studio Theatre, setting a first indoor performance for Sept. 28, 2021. After an 18-month intermission the company plans to return to a full 9-show season.

If a time machine could bring Chicago crooner Evan Tyrone Martin back to the decades where Nat King Cole, hailed as one of the best and most influential vocalists, pianists and small-group leaders of the swing era, was brilliantly entertaining audiences, the question he would ask the American legend is simple: Am I doing this right?
