Now in its third season, California School of the Arts a?" San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) continues to provide meaningful and often life-changing experiences for its 1,200 aspiring young artists through programs such as the 2019-2020 Master Artist Series. In addition to the school's 10 arts conservatories, this unique program provide students the opportunity to learn from real-world experts in a variety of industries. Acclaimed artists, esteemed educators and top industry leaders visit CSArts-SGV to impart their knowledge and provide students with exclusive advice through demonstrations, residencies, panel discussions, master classes and more.

To help get students ready for college theatre program auditions, we're taking a closer look at some of the country's most prestigious theatre programs! We're chatting with faculty members from each school to get a better understanding of everything from audition advice to real world experience and more. Today, we're highlighting the Department of Theatre Arts at Marymount Manhattan College. Find out more about the school and see their answers about their program!

Ritu Arya, Yusuf Gatewood, and Marin Ireland join the second season of Netflix's hit show 'The Umbrella Academy.'  It was previously announced that Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min are set to reprise their roles. Production on season two is currently underway. 

La Mirada Theatre For The Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment present SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, based on the greatest movie musical of all time with screenplay by Betty Comden & Adolph Green and songs by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed. The fresh new production will be directed & choreographed by Spencer Liff (Emmy nominee for TV's 'So You Think You Can Dance' and Broadway's Head Over Heels, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Falsettos), associate director is Cynthia Ferrer (original 'Kathy Selden' in the first National Tour of Singin' in the Rain) with musical direction by Keith Harrison. SINGIN' IN THE RAIN will preview on Friday, April 19, 2019 (with a press opening on Saturday, April 20 at 8pm) and run through Sunday, May 12, 2019 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada. Preceding, it will perform Friday, April 12 through Sunday, April 14 at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya), 18111 Nordhoff Street, in Northridge.

Gerard Way releases new track today via Reprise Records. You might recognize it simply from the title, “Hazy Shade of Winter.” Gerard covered the track in honor of the new upcoming Netflix show, “The Umbrella Academy,” which is being used in the show's new trailer which just came out today. It features fan favorite guitarist, Ray Toro.

Kate Walsh (13 Reasons Why, Private Practice) is set to join the cast of the Netflix original series The Umbrella Academy.

Making a triumphant return to the city that helped raise her in a one of the most popular musicals to ever grace the stages of the world, BroadwayWorld chatted with her about the true power of the show.
