This fall will mark the first online performance of Talking It Out, a virtual theatre festival dedicated to promoting mental health awareness.

Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) honors the life and legacy of Emmy-nominated, Obie-Award-winning actress and comedian Georgia Engel with a new namesake Award for a playwright in comedy. The inaugural recipient is Bess Wohl (a?oeGrand Horizons,a?? a?oeSmall Mouth Sounds,a?? Make Believea??).

Building on over 40 years of producing powerful contemporary theatre, Studio Theatre is pleased to announce its largest class ever of commissioned artists to Studio R&D, its incubator to support the creation of new work. Studio will award grants to 10 artists-playwrights, directors, and multidisciplinary creators-investing in its future while supporting theatre-makers and expanding the idea of what it means to be a generative artist. For the first time, Studio R&D commissions are being awarded to support the creation of audio plays, as Studio explores alternate modes of theatrical storytelling in response to the present moment.

The Dramatists Guild of America Council has selected Michael R. Jackson as the recipient of the 2019 Hull-Warriner Award, for his musical A Strange Loop. Sean Patrick Flahaven, who became President of Concord Theatricals upon its formation in December 2018, has been promoted to Chief Theatricals Executive for Concord. He will now report to the company's CEO, Scott Pascucci.
