The Wilbury Theatre Group Presents National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere of RED BIKE Presented by The Wilbury Theatre Group in collaboration with Pygmailion Productions (Salt Lake City), Simpatico Theatre (Philadelphia), and Know Theatre (Cincinnati) PROVIDENCE, RI (January 30, 2019) - The Wilbury Theatre Group continues its record-breaking 2018/19 season with National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere of RED BIKE, a new play by award-winning playwright Caridad Svich. Joining productions by Pygmalion Productions (Salt Lake City), Simpatico Theatre (Philadelphia), and Know Theatre (Cincinnati), The Wilbury Theatre Group is proud to bring Providence this timely and rollercoaster ride of a story of the city on the verge of change in performances February 21 thru March 3, 2019.

The Dramatists Guild Foundation Fellows program will begin accepting applications for the 2019-2020 Fellows class on Friday, February 1st. They will close at midnight, Eastern time, on March 12.

Tennessee Playwrights Studio, a Nashville-based new-play development lab in partnership with Actors Bridge Ensemble, has announced its fellows and associates for 2019. Five TPS fellows, chosen from a competitive application process, will work under the direction of Kenley Smith to develop new full-length scripts that will be presented in public readings at the Darkhorse Theatre Chapel later this year. Two associates will contribute to monthly workshop sessions in the first year and will become TPS Fellows in 2020. TPS will continue to cast actors from the Nashville community for workshops and readings.

Piccione about the inner struggles of living with mental illness and Asperger's syndrome, premieres January 2019 at the Hudson Guild Theatre, 441 W 26th Street, as part of the New York Theatre Festival's 2019 NYWinterfest.

Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) has announced the second-ever recipients of the DGF Writers Alliance Grants. These Grants provide $5,000 to both a non-profit theater's production of a new work and $5,000 to the writer or group of writers whose work is being produced. Gary Garrison, who serves on both the DGF Advisory Board and the Writers Alliance Grant selection committee, said: "The DGF's Writers Alliance Grant is the perfect combination of support for both writer AND theater. It acknowledges that the writer has a story that should to be told while also smartly pointing to the theater that should be telling it."

The Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) announced today that it has received a $2 million commitment from the Seller-Lehrer Family Foundation, Inc. (SLFF). The DGF is an established non-profit organization that fuels the future of American theater by supporting the writers who create it. DGF fosters playwrights, composers, lyricists, and book writers at all stages of their careers. DGF creates educational programs; provides awards, grants, and stipends; offers free space to create new works; and gives emergency aid to writers in need.

The Dramatists Guild of America is the originator of the Dramatists Guild Fellows program, with a mission is to enhance the sense of community among developing American dramatists by offering a year-long workshop designed to augment their training with practical experience and career information resources.

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will present the world premiere of Kev Berry's THE ORANGE TERROR CYCLE, PART 1: CHAPTERS 1-20 directed by Alex Tobey. The cast will include Kev Berry, Alejandro Cervantes, Rachel Horwitz, and Teresa Langford. Performances are November 11 and 12 at 7:00 PM. On November 1st, The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, headquartered in Auburn, N.Y., will begin accepting submissions for new musicals in all stages of development to be considered for the 2019 season of The PiTCH. The PiTCH is a new works series offering residency and retreat for creative teams, and the opportunity to develop and "pitch" their new musical to engaged and enthusiastic audiences. Teams benefit from dialogue and feedback immediately following their "pitch." Submission deadline is Nov. 30, 2018.

Dramatists Guild Foundation would like to formally announce the 2018-2019 class of DGF Fellows. The new Fellows class includes Rae Binstock, Erika Dickerson-Despenza, Mathilde Dratwa, Benjamin Velez and Aryanna Garber, Melissa Li and Kit Yan, Charles Gershman, Nambi E. Kelley, and Zack Zadek.
