The St Louis Black Repertory Company continues its 45th Anniversary Season with Fireflies by Donja R. Love. Fireflies opens on February 11, 2022 at at the 125-seat Hotchner Studio Theatre on Washington University’s campus. Previews begin on February 9, 2022.  The show is directed by Atlanta-based actor and director Andrea Frye, featuring Zahria Moore and Eric Conners. The courageous work takes an intimate approach to exploring personal aspects of the Civil Rights Movement.

Yesterday, on World AIDS Day, playwright Donja R. Love (one in two) and National Queer Theater have announced Dominic Colón (Prospect Ave. or The Miseducation of Juni Rodriguez) as the first recipient of the Write It Out! Prize for playwrights living with HIV.

Space Dogs will begin previews at MCC Theater (511 W 52nd Street New York, NY 10019) on January 11, 2022 in the Susan & Ronald Frankel Theater. Directed by Ellie Heyman (amfAR’s Angels in America), Space Dogs will have an opening night on January 30, 2022 and play a limited run through February 20, 2022.

The second annual Write It Out! program for writers living with HIV will stream performances of students' work during a final sharing on Wednesday, December 1 at 7pm ET.

Dutch Kills Theater has announced an extension of its acclaimed New York Premiere of 2018 Weissberger Award for Playwriting nominee THE ANTELOPE PARTY by Eric John Meyer. Performances will now run through December 4 at The Wild Project.

Written by Erika Dickerson-Despenza and directed by Candis C. Jones, Cullud Wattah follows three generations of Black women living through the Flint Water Crisis. The world premiere began preview performances in The Public's Martinson Hall on Tuesday, November 2 and officially opened last night, Wednesday, November 17.

The New Group has announced two new appointments to its staff. Emily Bookwalter has been named as its Director of External Affairs starting October 25, 2021. Shariffa Ali has also been named as its Director of Artistic Projects starting November 2, 2021.
