Initial casting has been announced for Pride Plays 2025 in New York. This is an important play, to be considered a peer of Angels in America and The Inheritance, a sweeping two-play multigeneration account of the impact of AIDS on the American gay community -- with the difference that this one focuses on men and women of color. It may suffer from some lack of restraint and melodrama, but it makes up for it with the depth and breadth of its consideration, the power of the acting, and the force of its polemic concerning the beauty of the gay community and its members, the care shown by its caretakers, and the importance of creating records. You could feel the love in the play, and fall in love with the characters.

MCC Theater (Bernie Telsey and Will Cantler, Co-Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) has announced the creative team for the World Premiere of Table 17 by Douglas Lyons (Chicken & Biscuits) and directed by Zhailon Levingston (Cats: The Jellicle Ball).

Rattlestick Theater will host playwrights Alex Lin and kanishk pandey as its 2024-25 Van Lier New Voices Fellows. This program provides substantial support to two emerging playwrights of color annually, including a $35,000 living stipend, a $5,000 artistic fund, mentorship with a chosen playwright, workshops and readings of new work, as well as participation in Rattlestick's larger artistic network.
