MARY POPPINS begins performances on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the New Amsterdam Theatre and opens on Thursday, November 16.

Disney Theatrical Productions (DTP) announced today that it will release a version of Disney Channel's wildly successful HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL for local productions beginning this Fall through Music Theatre International (MTI).

Disney Theatrical Productions has announced that a Student Rush Program will replace the previously announced Lottery Ticket Program for their production of TARZAN®. The Student Rush Program will begin with the performance on Thursday, April 6th.

Tarzan will swing into the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 W. 46th Street) for its first preview on March 24th before opening on May 10th

Two and a half hours prior to each performance of TARZAN®, guests are invited to fill out a lottery card at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street) to enter the drawing for a limited number of $20 lottery tickets to that particular performance.

Group sales have begun for MARY POPPINS on Broadway.

Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST set a new box office record at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street) for the week of December 26-January 1. The production grossed $1,229,825 over nine performances.

Thomas Schumacher, president of Disney Theatrical Productions, will be profiled on PBS's 'In The Life' which will air tonight at 11 PM in New York on WNET (check local listings for airings outside of New York).

The production will star Josh Strickland as Tarzan, Jenn Gambatese as Jane, Merle Dandridge as Kala, Shuler Hensley as Kerchak, Chester Gregory II as Terk, Timothy Jerome as Professor Porter and Donnie Keshawarz as Clayton. Daniel Manche and Alex Rutherford will alternate in the role of Young Tarzan.

Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida opened in Munich on November 22nd, and will tour Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the future

Tickets go on sale to the general public this Sunday, November 20, for TARZAN®, The Broadway Musical, presented by Disney Theatrical Productions.

Bob Crowley has received a 2005 Evening Standard Award nomination for Best Designer for his work for MARY POPPINS.

Mary Poppins will begin performances at the New Amsterdam Theatre on October 14, 2006 for a November 16, 2006 opening. The Lion King will exit the New Amsterdam Theatre on June 4, 2006, to re-open at the Minskoff on June 13, 2006.
