Student Blog: The Lights are Still Bright on Broadway

With a new year comes a new opportunity to see Broadway shows. Since the re-opening of Broadway in September of 2021, several productions from Hamilton to Wicked have continued to perform eight shows a week to eager audiences. Although these past few weeks have been difficult, Broadway productions have remained open despite the many challenges that the Omicron variant has presented. While it is difficult to foresee how the rest of the pandemic will play out, it becomes clear that the best time to see a Broadway show is now, especially since crowds are smaller, tickets are easier to attain, and the logistics are easier to navigate. With this in mind, compiled below is a list of some of the shows to see right now, presenting the theatrical highlights of 2022 so far.

Production photos have been released of two-time Grammy nominee and Theater World Award winner Conrad Ricamora as Seymour in the three-time Best Musical Revival Award-winning production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. Ricamora began his run in the starring role on January 11, 2022 at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street).
The Grammy Awards Set Rescheduled Date in Las Vegas

The 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards have been rescheduled and will now broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Hosted by Trevor Noah, the nominees include Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella, Girl From the North Country, the Unofficial Bridgerton Musical, Stephen Schwartz's Snapshots, and Les Miserables, and more.
Pierce Turner Releases New Single 'Set A Few Things Up' From New Album 'Terrible Good'

LATE NIGHT Cancelled This Week After Seth Meyers Tests Positive For COVID

Meyers revealed the COVID result in a tweet, stating that he feels 'fine' since he has received his vaccines and booster shot. The show will not air for the rest of the week and will resume next Monday in a new location. Meyers hosted a live episode of the show last night, featuring American Utopia star David Byrne.
