This month, 54 BELOW will present some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

Sunday night was a very special occasion here at BroadwayWorld. The best of Broadway gathered at Sony Hall to celebrate a huge milestone- our 20th Anniversary! The concert event benefitted Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Check out photos from the red carpet!

The stars came out to celebrate last night at the Belasco Theatre, where the new American play, Good Night, Oscar starring Sean Hayes opened. 54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club and 2022 Tony Awards® Honoree for Excellence in the Theatre, will welcome the original cast of Hands on A Hardbody on June 6th at 7:00pm & 9:30pm, as they reunite for the musical’s 10th anniversary.

Beginning today, guests visiting the Museum of Broadway can view several new artifacts from recently-closed Broadway shows. Learn more about what is now on display here!

The cast and creative team of WHO KILLED MARILYN? gathered around a table at Open Jar Studios this morning to begin rehearsals for industry readings on Friday.  Check out the photo below!

Broadway Baby Productions,LLC will present additional private industry readings of 'Who Killed Marilyn” a new play by Sharleen Cooper Cohen. Directed by Dick Scanlan (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Evening Rapture), the readings will be held on Friday, March 10 at 11:00am and 2:30pm.

The show will feature guest performances from Clancy Brown, Andy Daly, Cole Escola, Harvey Guillén, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Marc Evan Jackson, Rachel Kaly, Kerri Kenney, Lauren Lapkus, Jane Lynch, Mike Mitchell, Kyle Mooney, Claudia O’Doherty, Lennon Parham, Daniel Radcliffe, Maya Rudolph, and more.

Michael Butler, famed producer of the musical Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, passed peacefully November 7, 2022 at the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging in Reseda, CA.  He was born November 26, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois.

The film features the voices of Chris Evans as Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear, Uzo Aduba as his commander and best friend Alisha Hawthorne and Peter Sohn as Sox. Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi and Dale Soules lend their voices to the Junior Zap Patrol’s Izzy Hawthorne, Mo Morrison and Darby Steel, respectively, and James Brolin can be heard as Zurg.

The star-studded New York City Center Encores! production of James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's beloved musical, Into the Woods, officially opened on Broadway at the St. James Theatre. An advance listen of the track “Mission Perpetual” from the forthcoming Disney and Pixar film, Lightyear, is available now. Composed and produced by Michael Giacchino, the score for “Lightyear” was recorded over 15 days with an 89-piece orchestra and a 39-member choir. The soundtrack features 31 tracks and will be available in Dolby Atmos Music

The Lucky Star, produced by Douglas Denoff & Beth Goldsmith, The Directors Company, and 59E59 Theaters will conclude its limited engagement on Sunday, June 12 as originally planned. The production began previews on April 26, 2022, and opened May 5, 2022 in Theatre A. 

Alexandra Silber is often known for her nuanced and powerful portrayals of strong Jewish women, including Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Halina in Indecent and more. Silber is back on stage now in the dual roles of Dola/Vita in Karen Hartman's The Lucky Star, being presented as part of the inaugural VOLT Festival at 59E59.

We attended a poignant production of The Lucky Star produced by The Directors Company, that featured outstanding direction by Noah Himmelstein, and an excellent cast.
