In honor of the spookiest day of them all, BWW decided to rank their 13 favorite scary musicals. Some may be more comical, while others bring the drama. But, we can all agree that moments from these shows have made us jump in our seats!

On Monday, October 9, the Theater People podcast welcomes Broadway and TV star Hlene Yorke. Helene made her Broadway debut in 2008 in GREASE. She went on to originate the role of Olive in BULLETS OVER BROADWAY and Evelyn in AMERICAN PSYCHO. On television, she is well known for her work on THE GOOD FIGHT, MASTERS OF SEX, and GRAVES.

Tonight, October 5, 2017, Tony Award winner John Cullum will join the Broadway musical Waitress in the role of Joe, the cantankerous owner of Joe's Pie Diner, home to the titular pie-maker's extraordinary confections.

On Monday, October 2, the Theater People podcast welcomes Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan. Jeremy Jordan made his Broadway debut in 2009's ROCK OF AGES. He went on to play the Tony alternate, appearing twice per week, in the 2009 revival of WEST SIDE STORY. In 2011 he originated the role of Clyde Barrow in BONNIE AND CLYDE. And he received his first Tony nomination for originating the role of Jack Kelly in 2011's NEWSIES.

The producers of the Broadway hit Waitress announced today that they will be supporting the Susan G. Komen Greater NYC during Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. For the first time ever a Broadway show will change costumes for Breast Cancer Awareness Month when the iconic blue uniforms donned by the Waitresses in the show go pink throughout the month of October.

On Wednesday, August 30, Theater People podcast welcomes CATS star Tyler Hanes. Since making his Broadway debut as a teenager in 2002's OKLAHOMA, Hanes has racked up nine Broadway credits including HAIRSPRAY, THE BOY FROM OZ, SWEET CHARITY, A CHORUS LINE, and ON THE TOWN.

The producers of the Broadway hit Waitress have announced that on September 12, 2017 Tony Award nominee Will Swenson will return to the hit Broadway musical in the role of Earl, the ne'er-do-well husband, opposite Betsy Wolfe as Jenna, the titular pie-maker. Earl is currently played by Joe Tippett, who will play his final performance on September 10.

In the first segment, Silber discusses her new novel 'After Anatevka' which tells the story of Hodel, the middle daughter in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, after the action of the beloved musical ends. Silber also discusses her career in The West End (THE WOMAN IN WHITE, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF) and on Broadway (MASTER CLASS, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF) and shares how her life journey prepared her to write her book. In the second segment, Tony winner Reed Birney discusses his work in the provocative new production of 1984, a play based on George Orwell's 1949 novel.

On Monday, July 24, Theater People podcast welcomes Broadway favorite Julia Murney. Murney discusses growing up in New York City where she attended La Guardia High school during the year and the famed Stagedoor Manor during the summer.

On Monday, July 10, the Theater People podcast welcomes two-time Tony nominee Laura Osnes and Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer of THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG. For the first part of the episode, host Patrick Hinds chats with Osnes (who is making her fourth appearance on Theater People) about her work in BANDSTAND. Osnes, who has been with the show since it's very first reading, shares stories about how the show has developed, why she turned down other roles to stay with the piece, and a personal family story about why she feels so connected to the role.

Say his name three times and he might just arrive on Broadway!Now according to an Equity casting notice, the show will get a developmental lab in September. The musical features music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect and a book by Anthony King & Scott Brown. Timbers remains on board for the project. Connor Gallagher will join the creative team as choreographer. 

On Monday, June 26th, the Theater People podcast welcome's ANASTASIA star Derek Klena. For the podcast, Klena tells all about creating the role of Dmitri in the new Broadway production alongside his friend and CARRIE: THE MUSICAL co-star Christy Altomare.

There will be an industry-only staged reading of the 1962 musical I Can Get It For You Wholesale, based on the best-selling Jerome Weidman novel on Tuesday, June 6th. The musical has a score by Harold Rome (Fanny, Wish You Were Here, Destry Rides Again), book by Jerome Weidman (Fiorello!), revised book by John Weidman (Assassins, Pacific Overtures, Contact), music direction by David Chase (Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Nice Work If You Can Get It), and direction by Trip Cullman (Six Degrees of Separation, Significant Other).

The 62nd Annual Drama Desk Awards, hosted by Michael Urie, were held at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street) just last night, June 4th.
