Castle Craig Players has announced the cast for its summer production of 'CLUE: On Stage', the brand-new stage adaptation of 1985 cult classic motion picture, which will run July 29 - August 13 at the group's intimate cabaret venue in Meriden.
On Friday, July 23rd, I had the pleasure of seeing live theatre from the Castle Craig Players, again, their first live show since March of 2020! Performing outdoors at the Hubbard Park Bandshell, in Meriden, CT, the Castle Craig Players return to live performances, right where they left off, with yet another phenomenal first-rate production, the family friendly 1967 classic musical, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN. After seeing this show as presented live by the Castle Craig Players, it has now become one of my absolute favorite musicals!
Reprising their roles from Castle Craig's 2014 production of the show are Ian Galligan (as Charlie Brown), Jennifer Del Sole (as Sally) and Arthur Canova (as Linus). They are joined by Nick Ciasullo (as Schroeder), Cessa Fontanez (as Lucy) and Stephen Koehler (as Snoopy).

'GYPSY: A Musical Fable' closes out the Castle Craig Players 26th Anniversary Season, running through August 10 at their intimate cabaret venue in Meriden.
On Saturday, July 27, I had the pleasure of seeing the Castle Craig Players production of the musical GYPSY at the Almira F. Stephan Memorial Playhouse in Meriden, CT. This tale, based on a true story, has book written by Arthur Laurents, with music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Ian Galligan provides spectacular direction to this phenomenal cast, with the help of Chris Coffey as musical director and conductor of the talented live six piece band, and Erin Coffey as choreographer.

I had the pleasure of seeing Neil Simon's THE DINNER PARTY at the High Plains Community Center presented by The Orange Players. Dinner parties where you don't know anybody can be awkward, but how about being blindsided by seeing an ex-spouse there? Three divorced couples are put in a private dining room in an unexpected, somewhat out of the blue dinner party. Hilarity ensues as the couples see each other, for some the first time in years, and they try to figure out why they are there and where is this mutual friend who invited them. Fabulously directed by Chelsea Dacey, this clever comedy was a joy to all.
WINDER WONDERETTES is playwright Roger Bean's new sequel to his previous hit jukebox musical comedy The Marvelous Wonderettes, which the Castle Craig Players produced last year. The same brilliant director Ian Galligan brings back the same four extremely talented actresses who gel together with tighter harmonies and stronger stage chemistry than many touring bands have ever attained. Chelsea Dacey, Emma Czaplinski, Jessica Engster, and Jennifer Del Sole reprise their roles of Suzy, Missy, Betty Jean, and Cindy Lou, respectively. Musical director Chris Coffee leads the three piece backstage live band that accompanies the singers, enhancing the quality of this show that is marvelous all around with excellent acting, singing, dancing, and stage antics.
The Wonderettes are back in town, just in time for the holidays! The Castle Craig Players will present 'THE WINTER WONDERETTES' - the ALL-NEW holiday sequel to last year's sold-out hit - November 30-December 15, at their intimate cabaret venue.
The Seven Angels Theatre puts on an amazing retrospective of 1960s music by women, with a highly talented cast that can sing and dance, accompanied by a rocking band.
For an exciting musical that the whole family can enjoy, I highly recommend DRACULA: GOES TO HIGH SCHOOL at the Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre in Bridgeport, CT. A talent cast brings familiar characters and well known songs from the 1950s and 1960s into a new story about the adventures of teenage Dracula in high school
