Sonoran Desert Chorale to Present DESERT VOICES OF CHRISTMAS

At this most beautiful season of the year, music connects us to feelings of hope and joy and an appreciation of the miraculous.  The Chorale translates those feelings into song accompanied by brass, percussion, and two of the mightiest organs in the Valley.  Continuing with our exploration of the music of Ireland and the British Isles, we sing many pieces steeped in this tradition.  Musical styles range from medieval to contemporary, offering lush melodies - familiar and new, with beautiful lyrics presented by a rich blend of 60 voices.

Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT Reimagined Underneath an African Sky for Local Audiences

Artscape Theatre in association with The Maynardville Theatre Trust and The City of Cape Town will present an adaptation of the romantic Shakespearean comedy, TWELFTH NIGHT, at the Maynardville's Open Air Theatre in 2017. Starring David Johnson and Elizabeth Akudugu, this uniquely African-inspired version is directed by Geoffrey Hyland.

Dustin Lance Black Pens Gay Rights Miniseries WHEN WE RISE for ABC

One Ham Manlet, an adaptation and solo performance piece of Hamlet by Ryan Kathman, opens November 4, 2016, and runs through November 19, 2016, on the Next Stage at Theatre Memphis. An original work, this piece takes William Shakespeare's Danish prince's 'antic disposition' and pushes it to the limits. Approximately 20 characters are portrayed by author/actor Kathman in this modern, often comedic but no less authentic interpretation of the legendary tragedy. Is there 'something rotten' in his 'method to this madness'? 'That is the question.' Scroll down for a first look at Kathman in action!

Cecelia Powell Announces JORDAN'S IMAGINATIONS

Cecelia Powell has completed her new book 'Jordan's Imaginations': a heart-warming and fun children's story full of the magic of childhood. Cecelia the sixth child of seven children, was born in Manchester, Mandeville Jamaica in 1963. She moved to the United States in 1997 where she began working retail. She has been writing Gospel Music, Poems and Bible Study lessons for church for many years. She has always had a love for children, which is why she ventured out into the Childcare Business after being in the retail business for over twenty years. It is very important to her that children get a good education at an early age, along with love, nurturing and teaching them to always use their imagination.

Directed by Ensemble Company member Matt Lee who shares one reason for his love of directing for kids, "Theatre is a unique opportunity to directly engage our youth in the art of storytelling.  I am thrilled to be bringing one of my favorite children's books to life onstage for families to enjoy." The play will run at MET for four weeks beginning September 24.
