WATER BY THE SPOONFUL Comes to Cygnet Theatre This Month

Rehearsals have begun for Cygnet Theatre's production of Water by the Spoonful by Tony-winning playwright Quiara Alegría Hudes (In the Heights). This Pulitzer prize-winning drama about forgiveness, redemption and family is directed by Meg DeBoard and runs March 23 through April 24. Opening Night for media is Saturday, March 26.

Pacific Conservatory Theatre Announces 2021-22 Season

The multicamera, virtually produced reading of Luis Alfaro's “Mojada” premieres Friday, November 20 and “Electricidad” premieres Sunday, November 22, both at 5 p.m. Pacific. Along with “Oedipus El Rey,” these modern adaptations of Greek tragedies complete “The Greek Trilogy of Luis Alfaro” which is presented on Center Theatre Group's Digital Stage in partnership with The Getty.

New Village Arts/teatro Pueblo Nuevo Announces Hispanic Heritage Month Events

New Village Arts Theatre has announced a series of Latinx events in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sep. 15 a?" Oct. 15), hosted as part of Teatro Pueblo Nuevo, NVA's bilingual and multicultural outreach initiative. These events are being coordinated by Artist-in-Residence Frankie Alicea-Ford and sponsored in part by the California Arts Council. 

THE WINDY CITY, Stories From and About Chicago Opens Monday, 10/23

Write Out Loud - an organization founded in 2007 with a commitment to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading literature aloud for a live audience - announces The Windy City, the second production in their American Season XI, a season that focuses on American stories by American authors. Write Out Loud Story Concerts bring literature to life - aloud - with rehearsed readings by professional actors. Each program explores specific themes by weaving a variety of stories and poems together into a literary tapestry. David Fenner, Monique Gaffney, Catalina Maynard, Veronica Murphy and Walter Ritter will perform in The Windy City, Stories From and About Chicago. A complimentary pre-show reception starts at 6:15pm with a 7:00pm curtain.

San Diego Repertory Theatre to present World Premiere of INTO THE BEAUTIFUL NORTH

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) has announced the sixth and final show of their 2017/18 season "Into the Beautiful North." This world premiere, one of the National New Play Network's rolling world premieres, was written by Karen Zacarias ("The Book Club Play," "Just Like Us") and will be directed by San Diego REP Artistic Director Sam Woodhouse. "Into the Beautiful North" begins on Thursday, March 30, 2017 and plays through Sunday, April 23, 2017 with an opening night on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 7 p.m. on the Lyceum Stage Theatre at San Diego REP in Horton Plaza.
