The Stratford Festival has announced that Chilina Kennedy will headline a musical Forum Showcase on November 4 at Stratford's Avon Theatre. Tickets are now on sale for Chilina Kennedy in The House of Martin Guerre in Concert.

Hartford Stage will present The Flamingo Kid, which closes the 2018-19 season. Performances for The Flamingo Kid begin on Thursday, May 9, and run through Sunday, June 9.

This past month was filled with exciting stage-to-screen news! In casting news, The In the Heights film rounded out its cast and Mike Faist joined the West Side Story film. The plays Outside Mullingar and The Father are getting the feature film treatment, and The Prom and The Boys and the Band are headed to Netflix!

GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS has announced that Be More Chill: Original Broadway Cast Recording will be released for digital download and streaming tomorrow, May 3. This new album completes a remarkable full-circle journey for Be More Chill, as the original recording from Ghostlight (which has now been streamed over 300 million times to date) helped propel the show from Two River Theater to a viral Broadway hit. CD and vinyl releases are planned for later this year. Starting today, Friday, April 26, customers who pre-order the digital album will immediately receive a download of the single 'More Than Survive.' It's going to be one fine day in Wichita Kansas when BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL comes to Century II Concert Hall on May 15 and runs through May 19, 2019. 

Mean Girls star, Taylor Louderman, will be on hand at (Le) Poisson Rouge this Monday, May 6, as the 'Comfort Counselor' for Broadway stars participating in the 4th Annual Broadway Bee, a fundraiser for Broadway Bound Kids. In addition to the fetch Louderman, Afra Hines (Hadestown) and Jillian Mueller (Pretty Woman) round out the classroom of spellers who join previously announced Paige Davis (Chicago), Ali Stroker (Oklahoma), J Harrison Ghee (Kinky Boots), Jelani Remy (Ain't Too Proud), Lee Aaron Rosen (Angels in America), Evan Todd (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Zach Hess (Frozen), Lauryn Ciardullo (Aladdin), and Alex Weisman (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).

Singer Julie Budd will perform The Songs of My Life... And the Composers Who Wrote Them on Wednesday, May 1 through Saturday, May 4 at 7 pm in the Birdland Theater. The Songs Of My Life is a journey in music through Budd's many decades in show business. Under musical director Herb Bernstein, Budd will perform material by such varied songwriters as Michel Legrand, Duke Ellington. Los Angeles-based band JEMS will release their debut self-titled album on May 17 (pre-order). This week the band revealed the latest single from the album 'Like Myself.' New spellers have been added to Broadway Bound Kids' fourth annual Broadway Bee set for Monday, May 6, 2019, at 7 PM at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street). It's a comedic adult spelling bee featuring cast members from hit Broadway shows who compete in a hilarious live event, while raising funds to provide a wide range of performing arts opportunities for NYC youth, regardless of their financial resources. Broadway Dreams once again demonstrated the unifying power of the arts when the internationally renowned performing arts education program sent a team of Broadway professionals to Moscow, Russia for the fourth consecutive year. Through a landmark partnership created between the non-profit organization, Broadway Moscow Theatre Company, the U.S. Embassy, and the U.S. Department of State, Broadway Dreams offered their unique brand of Broadway master classes to professional and aspiring Russian musical theater performers of all ages during a ten-day intensive program.
