MADAME INFAMY Plays NYMF, Now thru 7/27
by BWW News Desk
- Jul 23, 2014
Mentioned by the New York Times as "What to Do in New York City in Summer 2014" and lauded by The Huffington Post as "a brilliant example of what might be called creative, feminist historiography," Madame Infamy, is a new musical directed by Carlos Armesto, with concept and Book by Jp Vigliotti and Music and Lyrics by Cardozie Jones and Sean Willis. At the turn of the 18th century, America stood firmly on the backs of its slaves while Paris burned as its poorest citizens revolted against the aristocracy. Two worlds united by one electrifying score, Madame Infamy is the dark and moving tale of Marie Antoinette, last Queen of France, and Sally Hemings, slave and mistress of President Thomas Jefferson. Fighting hardship, scandal, and loss, each must find the strength to combat a nation in hopes of protecting the ones she loves.

The M's second psychic night was a rousing success. With lines out the door for tarot card readings, it was a good thing that Mary Elizabeth Micari invited guest reader Giovanni Conti to join her at the tables. People came from as near as down the block and as far as Long Island to learn what was in the cards for them from experienced readers, Mary and Giovanni. 'We were excited to come, so we made a night of it, we went to one of the restaurants here and then after, we went for drinks ... I miss Brooklyn!' exclaimed Gina Ocello.

BWW Reviews: LES MISERABLES A Powerful Reimagining
by Harmony Wheeler
- May 31, 2013
Not long after the Sacramento opening night performance of Les Miserables, producers officially confirmed plans to take the 25th anniversary production to Broadway next March. The announcement will come as no surprise to those who have witnessed the grandeur of the reimagined sets and slightly updated score. While many will miss the rotating stage of the original production, Wednesday night's standing ovation and the success of last year's film version of the musical, not to mention all the regional performances that are popping up everywhere, attest to its epic standing in the Broadway World.
BWW Reviews: LES MISERABLES Tour Thunders into Fort Myers
by Chris Silk
- Mar 25, 2013
Let's get to the point. 'Les Miserables' is back in Southwest Florida for the second time in fifteen months, playing through March 17 at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers. Will you like it? That depends. I didn't. You will. Because Tuesday's opening night crowd went absolutely nuts. Two curtain calls and almost no one ran screaming for the exits as if Inspector Javert was hot on their heels waiting to toss them into the Bastile. If the seats don't empty during bows, you know the folks in the 239 have got some major love for what's on stage.
