Manhattan Theatre Club's 2018-2019 season officially kicked off last night with the American premiere of The Nap, written by Olivier Award nominee Richard Bean and directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan. BroadwayWorld was there for the big night and you can check out photos of the cast on the red carpet below!

Two-time Tony Award nominee Brandon Uranowitz will join the cast of THE BAND'S VISIT as 'Itzik.' Uranowitz will begin performances in The Band's Visit on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.

he Broadway at Birdland concert series welcomes the return of award winning songwriter Scott Alan on Monday, September 24 at 7pm for a celebration of his newest album 'Lifeline.'

Having had the opportunity to meet Drama Desk Award Winning actor, Chesney Snow, during his run of IN TRANSIT and maintaining a connection to his artistry, have both been an absolute honor and pleasure. And at that time, Mr. Snow began the process of bringing his autobiographical choreopoem, UNWRITTEN LAW, to life at Dixon Place. Since then, Chesney has been performing, teaching, and writing all over the world.

As we await the musical's big screen release, we're counting down by flashing back through its journey so far. Today, check out photos of the cast in action from the world premiere at Theatre du Chatelet in 2014.

It is official that the Broadway Theater Season has begun. Head Over Heels, Pretty Woman, and Getting The Band Back Together, are the musicals kicking off the summer. I recently had a chance to sit with Brandon Williams from Getting the Band Back Together. He makes his Broadway debut playing the show's Bad Boy.

There were some people in the standing room only audience at Mr. Finn's Cabaret last night who were at an 'Evening With Jason Robert Brown' because they knew OF the Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist, but not because they were aware he is also an extraordinary performer. Jason's lyrics, melodies, harmonies, rhythms, and voice land on all the greatest of notes and the folks at Barrington Stage Company's cabaret couldn't contain their enthusiasm during his exciting show. His performance consisted of an eclectic mix of songs from Mr. Brown's acclaimed career. He started with a new composition titled 'Hope' from his latest album ' How We React And How We Recover' and then performed compositions from many of his Broadway shows (Parade, The Bridges of Madison County, Honeymoon in Vegas, The Last 5 Years, and Songs from a New World).

Broadway, West End, and National Tour Veteran Jill Paice is adding yet another accomplishment to her long list of credits as she performs her first solo show, Don't Quit Your Daydream at Feinstein's 54 Below on August 13th at 7:00 PM! Amidst planning and prepping for her big night, she talks a bit about all things from how she got her start in theatre, to what to expect on August 13th in the interview below!

Ghostlight Records celebrated the release of PRINCE OF BROADWAY Original Broadway Cast Recording with an exclusive in-store event at Barnes & Noble on Friday, June 1. PRINCE OF BROADWAY is a musical celebration highlighting the extraordinary six-decade career of director and producer Hal Prince. Mr. Prince appeared at the event in conversation with three-time Tony winner Jason Robert Brown, who co-produced the album and provided new songs, arrangements, orchestration and music supervision for the show. In addition to a CD signing, members of the original cast performed musical highlights.

Actresses, Liz Mikel (Lysistrata Jones) and Kiersey Clemons (Hearts Beat Loud, Transparent) stop by my studio to talk about their upcoming run in the New York Premiere of Eve Ensler's FRUIT TRILOGY, being presented by Abingdon Theatre Company as their final production of its 25th Anniversary season. For the past 3 years, I have been able to cover the New Dramatists Luncheon, and each time, I am amazed at the people that I get to meet when doing a red carpet. It's nice to see some new faces and a dream to see the familiar ones. This year's honoree is 2x Academy Award winning/ Tony Award winning and current nominee for his performance in Eugene O'Neill's THE ICEMAN COMETH, Denzel Washington.

For many of us of a certain age, SCHOOL HOUSE ROCK, was the cornerstone to everything we kids learned about Civics, Mathematics, Parts of Speech, and so much more. It was one of those moments that made our Saturday Mornings literally sing. After learning about nouns, various multiplication tables, and of course, how a bill turns into law, I felt like I had tapped into a new world of learning.

Last month, I had the opportunity to talk to playwright, Phillip Dawkins, about his latest play, THE GENTLEMAN CALLER. We chatted about the men who are about to start previews in the New York premiere of the play, Juan Francisco Villa and Daniel K. Isaac. I was very specific that I wanted to chat with them. Sometimes, you get exactly what you ask. Both Juan and Daniel braved spending time with me, and we had a fantastic chat about the show, their careers, and being non-traditionally cast in the roles of Tennessee Williams and William Inge, respectively.

These hosts explore the lives of the brilliant creators of words and music. Having Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle Award Winner Lynn Ahrens at the podium herself, in Lynn Ahrens: A Lyric Life made this an exceptional, fascinating, and entertaining experience in the renowned series at the 92Y.
