Just last night, Roundabout Theatre Company presented its 2019 Gala evening celebrating John Lithgow with The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre.

Artists for World Peace, a nonprofit organization, recently hosted its 8th annual Broadway event on Sunday, February 17th, at The Green Room 42. Check out photos from the evening below!

Since I have already told you how much I LOVE the current Broadway Limited-Run Hit, CHOIR BOY, it stands to reason that with a little artful requesting, I would be able to wrangle an interview with somebody from that show.

I really do love it when I finally get the chance to sit with one of my favorite Broadway Divas. I have been waiting to have studio time with the Tony Award© Nominee, Drama Desk Award Winning, Jenn Colella for a long time.  While still wowing crowds 8 shows a week in COME FROM AWAY, she took some time from her busy schedule to sit and gab with me about her show, her career, her life, and so much more.  When I found out that Ms Colella also had a life as a comedian, it made me love her more. Please enjoy my conversation with the absolutely fabulous, Jenn Colella.  

Every year at this time, I get very excited because I get the chance to meet some of the most promising lyricist and librettist in musical theater at the Kleban Prize Reception. Sometimes, I get a chance to talk to them before the big day. I recently got the chance to talk to 2 of the 3 winners of the coveted prize in studio, Sarah Hammond and Charlie Sohne, and I got a chance to talk to the 3rd winner, Shaina Taub, at the event along with some of the other notable guests.

I have the great fortune to talk to fabulous people all of the time, and Multi-Award Winning Playwright and Screenwriter, Dominique Morriseau, is no exception.  This playwright has taken to the written word to create amazing conversations with her plays like SUNSET BABY, DETROIT 67, SKELETON CREW.  Her recent Off Broadway play, PIPELINE, starring one of my fierce STAGE/FILM//TV Divas, Theater World Award Winner, Karen Pittman, ( Broadway's DISGRACED, Marvel's LUKE CAGE, FX's THE AMERICANS).  It is a discussion about the pipeline that is taking young men of color out of our schools and right into the prison system, and some of the forces that could be responsible for making this happen.

Being the theatre fan that I am, was beyond ecstatic when I read that the Eden Espinosa would be in the production. If I had a dollar for every time I watched the various performances of her belting in shows like Evita and Wicked then I could pay off my student loans. Imagine how thrilled I was when I had the opportunity to interview her as well on her experience in this show, what she hopes audiences take away and also some fun rapid fire questions.

The first revival of Pulitzer Prize Winner Lanford Wilson's Burn This stars Academy Award Nominee and three-time Emmy Award Nominee Adam Driver (Pale), Golden Globe Award Winner and Emmy Award Nominee Keri Russell (Anna), Tony Award Nominee David Furr (Burton) and Tony Award Nominee Brandon Uranowitz (Larry).

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday that the 10-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical The Band's Visit will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, April 7, 2019. On last night's episode of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' the cast of Tony Award-winning Broadway musical 'The Band's Visit' performed a scaled-down version of 'Omar Sharif' with Katrina Lenk.

The box office for BURN THIS will open today, February 4 at 10am EST at Hudson Theatre (141 West 44th Street).

The 10-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical The Band's Visit will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, April 7, 2019. Upon closing, the production will have played 589 regular and 36 preview performances at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 W 47th Street).

Three-time Emmy Award nominee Adam Driver (Pale) and Golden Globe Award Winner and Emmy Award Nominee Keri Russell (Anna) will lead the first revival of Pulitzer Prize Winner Lanford Wilson's BURN THIS. Directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer, BURN THIS is set to begin performances on Friday, March 15, 2019 and officially opening on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Hudson Theatre.

Theatre Forward and UBS will host the 16th Annual Broadway Roundtable on Friday, January 25, 2019 at UBS (1285 Avenue of the Americas) from 12:00pm - 2:00pm.
