Celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Chicago's Fine Arts Building with a free concert in the renovated Studebaker Theater and other exciting arts programs.

Chicago's historic Fine Arts Building (410 S. Michigan Avenue) is has announced Mayor Brandon Johnson has proclaimed Friday, October 13 as Fine Arts Building Day in Chicago “in recognition of [its] milestone 125th anniversary” and to “encourage all residents to support this historic landmark.”

That Woman - The Dance Show is produced by Tennessee Playwrights Studio and directed by Molly Breen. This production has been co-created with the following Nashville choreographers: Molly Breen, Caitlin Del Casino, Brandon Johnson, Thea Jones, Cornell Kennedy, Jodie Mowrey (Director of Choreography), Schuyler Phoenix, Rachel Simons, Brittany Stewart, and Emma Williams. 

The Darkhorse Theatre is set to stage tandem productions of That Woman- The Monologue Show and That Woman- The Dance Show. Ticket for all shows are now on sale at tnplaywrights.org. The Monologue Show will take place for one night only, while the Dance Show will perform on multiple days. Find more information about the shows and performance schedules below.

Tennessee Playwrights Studio has announced the TPS 2022 Season of theatre with four world premieres of new works by Tennessee playwrights/creators, along with a new cohort of TPS Fellows to be selected for the playwright development lab in 2022.

Tennessee Playwrights Studio and Angela Gimlin (Founder and COO of Nashville's own Inebriated Shakespeare Company) present a virtual workshop reading of the to-be-produced-after-the-pandemic play, THAT WOMAN, comprised of a series of monologues from the perspectives of women who were involved (or rumored-to-be involved) with President John F. Kennedy. 

The multiple award winner composer, created and leads her own ensemble in New York City. She has just turned to be the first national musician to receive the prestigious ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award.

ACT 1 brings its 2018-19 'f**k the Classics' Season to a close with director/designer Jim Manning's unique reinterpretation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet with Violent Delights, a dance-based retelling set to a score of music from emerging Nashville artists. Violent Delights runs May 24-June 8 at Nashville's Darkhorse Theater.

Last week, we got a taste of Jake's past with the arrival of 'The Boyz' - outrageously/drunkely played by Jerry O'Connell, Steve Little and Brandon Johnson. After Annie pulls Jake away from plans with his friends to take care of wedding stuff, tensions rise pulling Jake in two directions. In the end, in a 'who knows Jake more' drinking game, all beef was squashed and Jake no longer had to choose between his fiance and old friends. This week, we witness the return of Jessica St. Clair (BRIDESMAIDS, PLAYING HOUSE) as Jake and Annie's 'snobby mom' neighbor. While the happy couple is dealing with her, the sidekicks (Gil, Dennah and Kay) all compete to find a date to bring to the wedding. What could possibly go wrong? A lot, actually. According to Casey Wilson's twitter, which is an overwhelming wealth of knowledge, a hate crime is committed in the building, perpetuated by Jake and Annie, hilariously I assume.

Sadly, last week we didn't get a new episode of MARRY ME because some guy giving some special speech or something. Just kidding..as great as MARRY ME is, the President's State of the Union is slightly more important. Thankfully we get a new episode tonight and with the guest stars, I have a feeling it won't disappoint.

Polarity Ensemble Theatre presents William Shakespeare's tragedy, Macbeth. Adapted and directed by artistic director Richard Engling, Macbeth runs at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N.
