GRAMMY, TONY, and Emmy Award-winning artist Ben Platt has announced today's release of the much-anticipated deluxe edition of his critically-acclaimed debut album.

Grammy, Tony, and Emmy Award-winning artist Ben Platt has released his new single, 'So Will I.' 

The cleverest part of adaptor/director Erica Schmidt's new musical based on Edmond Rostand's classic CYRANO DE BERGERAC is that the two times a character makes mention of the title fellow's very large nose, there is a pause before the word, making it clear that the speaker was about to say something else, but thought better of it.

Ben Platt was a guest on Tuesday's episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan. During the interview, Platt talks about getting cast in Richard Linklater's adaptation of 'Merrily We Roll Along' which will be filmed over the next 18 years.

The New Group's Cyrano is playing a limited Off-Broadway engagement through December 22 at The Daryl Roth Theatre, where it just celebrated opening night!

On Monday, November 4, Ann Harada, Crystal Lucas-Perry, John Cameron Mitchell, Taylor Schilling, Wallace Shawn and Fred Weller will appear in a one-night-only reading of Maxwell Anderson's Bad Seed, to benefit The New Group, as the company celebrates its 25th Anniversary Season.  Cynthia Nixon directs.  This benefit reading supports New Group/New Works, The New Group's play and musical development program.

Due to popular demand, The New Group has announced an extension for Cyrano, with Ritchie Coster, Josh A. Dawson, Peter Dinklage, Hillary Fisher, Josh Franklin, Christopher Gurr, Blake Jenner, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Nehal Joshi, Grace McLean, Erika Olson and Scott Stangland.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents The New Group: Cyrano Adapted & Directed by Erica Schmidt, with Peter Dinklage, Blake Jenner, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Aaron Dessner and Bryce Dessner of The National on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 7:30pm. Music Director Ted Author will accompany the performances on piano.

The New Group announces full casting for Donja R. Love's one in two, featuring Jamyl Dobson, Leland Fowler and Edward Mawere. 

The New Group presents Cyrano, beginning October 11, ahead of an official opening night on November 7. Led by Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage as Cyrano alongside film actress Haley Bennett as Roxanne and film and TV actor Blake Jenner as Christian, the cast of this bold new musical includes Tom Riis Farrell, Damon J. Gillespie, Patrick Kerr, Laith Nakli, Gayle Samuels, Claire Saunders and Charlie Thurston.

It is an instantly recognizable story. Skilled writer and romantic Cyrano de Bergerac crafts beautiful prose but can't let himself be loved due to insecurities about his looks. This classic story is being brought to life in a new and exciting way at the Goodspeed's Norma Terris Theatre with music by members of the Grammy Award-winning band, The National, and a stellar cast and creative team. Playing the character of Le Bret is Damon J. Gillespie who is just off a starring role on the TV show Rise. I had the pleasure of speaking with Damon and learning about his experience with this new twist on a classic tale.

There has been a change in the performance schedule for Goodspeed Musicals' current production CYRANO. Due to the pending departure of one of the cast members, we must close after the 6:30pm performance on September 2, 2018. Previously scheduled performances for August 29-30 and September 5-9 have been cancelled. All other performances will remain as scheduled.
