Big Block Theatrical (Heathers)to present INAPPROPRIATE, a pop-rock musical with a book by Michael Sottile andLonnie McNeil (Eubie!, Ain't Misbehavin', Bubbling Brown Sugar); music and lyrics by Michael Sottile (Torch Song Trilogy, JOAN.,Snowman In The Dunes), co- directed by Michael Sottile & Ray Leeper, choreography by Ray Leeper ("So You Think You Can Dance," "The X Factor") and musical direction by Keith Harrison(The Boys From Syracuse, Million Dollar Quartet). Performances will begin on November 14 through November 24 at LA's Odyssey Theatre (2055 S. Sepulveda Blvd) tickets are $25 and can be purchased by visiting Plays411.com.

Though so many of us have seen 'RENT' countless times, its creator, Jonathan Larson, never lived to see his work come to life since he died of an aneurysm in the early hours of its opening night. But I know he would have loved its current production dedicated to him which is now playing at the Actors Company, directed and produced by Rowan Sutherland with Musical Director Melissa Sky Eagle, and Choreographer Marcus S. Daniel.

HotCity Theatre, a professional theatre company with a focus on contemporary programming and new play development announces the opening of TRUE WEST, by American playwright Sam Shepard. TRUE WEST premiered in 1980 at the Magic Theatre in San Francisco, CA where Shepard was a resident playwright. It has enjoyed incredible success throughout the country, creating many famous productions like that in which leading men Philip Seymour Hoffman and John C. Reilly switched roles on and off during the run and jointly won a Tony for their performances, and that which ignited the careers of Gary Sinise and John Malkovich and was filmed and aired by PBS. HotCity proudly brings this modern classic to St. Louis as the first show in their 2011 Season. Doug Finlayson directs.
