& Juliet has announced that Austin Scott will join the cast as ‘Shakespeare’ on Tuesday, August 8, replacing Tony Award-nominee Stark Sands, who will play his final performance on August 6.

The film follows struggling American siblings Alice (Bell) and Paul (Platt), who reluctantly agree to attend the wedding of their estranged, wealthy half-sister (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) in the English countryside alondside their mother, Donna (Allison Janney). The ECA showcased 10 winning short films, selected from over a hundred submissions. The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) will honor cinematographer/director Lawrence Sher,ASC best known for his films The Joker and The Hangover series, with the Distinguished Filmmaker Award, presented by Panavision, at the 2022 Emerging Cinematographer Awards (ECA).

The performance will take place at Roy Thomson Hall and marks the live debut of 'Paper Airplanes,' which multi-platinum artist Ruth B. and two-time Academy Award nominee / 5-time Grammy winner Terence Blanchard wrote and recorded specifically for A JAZZMAN'S BLUES. The track was produced by Oscar and Grammy winning producer, D'Mile and Ruth B.

Written, directed and produced by Academy Award honoree Tyler Perry, the film stars Joshua Boone and Solea Pfeiffer as star-crossed lovers Bayou and Leanne alongside an ensemble cast that includes Amirah Vann, Austin Scott, Milauna Jemai Jackson, Brent Antonello, Brad Benedict, Kario Marcel, Lana Young and Ryan Eggold. Mare Winningham and Jeannette Bayardelle sat down with Sherri Shepherd on the Wendy Show to discuss starring in Girl From the North Country on Broadway. During the interview, the stars reacted to their Tony nominations, revealing how they found out, and detailed their meeting with Bob Dylan, whose music is used in the show.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul visited Girl From The North Country on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre this evening. Prior to the show, she visited with the cast and came onstage to give brief remarks about Broadway’s resilience and the comeback of New York City.  

The Tony Nominated Broadway musical Girl From The North Country announced that the production was professionally captured prior to its re-opening on April 29th for future use.

“ER” star Anthony Edwards took to the stage on Friday evening in his Broadway musical debut as “Dr. Walker” in the recently Tony Nominated musical Girl From The North Country. With several members of the company out of the show due to COVID, Edwards stepped in at the last moment, and after only an hour of rehearsal time, to ensure that the show would go on. He starred opposite his wife, Mare Winningham, who was recently nominated for a Tony Award for her role.

Last night, Girl From The North Country hosted a special performance and gala to celebrate their third time opening on Broadway, as well as their seven Tony Award nominations, including “Best New Musical.”
