The Tank has announced programming for Spring 2022, including three world premieres and two international in-person productions across dance, music, and theater in their Proscenium Theater (312 W 36th St, New York, NY, 10018).

Anthony Misiano, in association with The Aviary and the wild project, presents the World Premiere of I SQUEEZED REALLY HARD. Directed by Jacob Titus (Spaceman by Leegrid Stevens), this one man comedy about one kid's tragedy runs through September 26th at the wild project.

In I SQUEEZED REALLY HARD., Anthony Misiano serves up a series of painfully funny, progressively more shocking true stories about his turbulent childhood and the modern broken home. A Dickensian journey as raw as it is intangibly universal, Misiano's fearless, high-energy storytelling takes us down an engrossing autobiographical road that makes us laugh at our darkest moments, and question what exactly we define as family. A bold, unapologetic comedy set in a simpler, more aggressive time known commonly as: The 90's.

ECHOES IN THE GARDEN will play a three-week limited engagement at The Chain Theatre (312 W 36th St 4th Fl, New York, NY 10018). Performances begin Wednesday, March 11 and continue through Sunday, March 29. Critically acclaimed playwright Christie Perfetti Williams's new play, THE MAGAZINE, will have its World Premiere at The Chain Theatre in Midtown Manhattan. The timely drama which is mixed with comedy will have a limited run, April 2 - 11. Opening night is slated for Thursday, April 2. Williams's recent New York City productions include The Werewolf of Washing Heights (Carnival Girls Productions) and An Appeal to the Woman of the House (Retro Productions).

IRT will present the World Premiere of Emily Krause's Throughoutiveness as part of the 3B Development Series December 4th through 8th. Performances will be on December 4-7 at 7:30 pm, and December 7 & 8 at 3:00 pm.

The Tank will present the World Premiere of The Séance Machine, written by EllaRose Chary and Brandon James Gwinn (Cotton Candy and Cocaine with Theater C; TL;DR: Thelma Louise; Dyke Remix at Rhinebeck Writers Retreat/The Tank), co-produced by Kimberly Hyacinthe and directed by Julia Sears (Bullet Catchers with Women in Combat Theatre Project; Wives Tale with Exquisite Corpse Company), at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), October 10-31.

On Monday, September 16, 2019, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation announced the 2019 recipients at the annual Off-Off-Broadway IT Awards. For the past 15 years, the It Awards have celebrated the vibrant and creative indie theatre community under the dedicated leadership of Executive Directors Shay Gines and Nick Micozzi who are stepping down and at the ceremony introduced new leadership for the organization: Cat Parker, Artistic Director of Articulate Theatre Company; Ariel Estrada, Producing Artistic Director of Leviathan Lab Projects; and Jazmyn Arroyo, Co-Founding Artistic Director of Step 1 Theatre Project will join Akia Squiteri, Artistic Director of Rising Sun Performance Company as Directors of the organization.

On Monday, July 29, 2019, The New York Innovative Theatre Awards, announced the 2019 nominees for the annual Off-Off-Broadway awards. The It Awards have celebrated the vibrant and creative theatre community for the past 15 years.  The official announcement took place at (Le) Poisson Rouge by six celebrated artists and producers from the community including: Jazmyn Arroyo, Jennifer Betite Yen, Iyvon Edebiri, Chris Ignacio, Ashley Rogers, and Erez Ziv.

Assassins tells a story of nine individuals who succeeded or attempted to assassinate the President of the United States of their time. This musical mixes humor and drama to tell a story about people who are trying to understand themselves in all different parts of life. Director Lauren Shields puts a contemporary view on this 2004 Tony award winning musical. Film actor Tim Realbuto* has been tapped to play John Hinckley, the man whose obsession with a young Jodie Foster made him attempt to assassinate President Ronald Reagan, in Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's musical masterpiece ASSASSINS, opening May 2nd at Long Island City's Secret Theatre. The production will be directed by Lauren Shields.

New York Shakespeare Exchange announces A Midsummer Night's Dream, a new production of Shakespeare's classic comedy directed by Brendan Averett from January 31-February 10, 2019 at The Secret Theatre, 4402 23rd St, Long Island City, NY 11101. Midsummer will have previews from January 31 - February 2, and opening night on February 3. Performances are Tuesday-Thursday at 7pm; Friday and Saturday at 8pm; and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 4pm. A student matinee will be held on Thursday, February 7 at 11am. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at www.nysx.org.
