Tony Award-winning director and writer Alex Timbers has authored a children’s picture book, Broadway Bird, a charming, irreverent, heartfelt story set in an all-animal version of Broadway, featuring illustrations by Alisa Coburn, which will be released on May 24, 2022.

La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club and La MaMa Kids will present the world premiere of the new puppet musical Mary Had A Little Lamb And Also A Substitute Teacher as part of its 60th season.

Just Us Girls & Co. will present its inagural musical production in the summer of 2022. The  title of the musical is LIZZIE. Two new ladies are lighting up the stage at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Joy Woods and Keri René Fuller have stepped into the royal roles of Catherine Parr and Jane Seymour in the hit Broadway musical Six!

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC) will present two one-act productions with the newly commissioned world premiere of I Shall Not Be Moved followed by the return of Your Negro Tour Guide, which has been revamped since it last appeared on ETC’s stage in 2010.

And while that is one of the true musical highlights of Summer – The Donna Summer Musical, it also focuses attention on the fact that the musical itself – or, rather, its problematic book – often seems unable to figure out how to focus the spotlight on its heroine. Taking a non-linear pathway through the story of the diva’s life, Summer – The Donna Summer Musical is oftentimes confusing and sometimes perplexing, despite the fact that the musical score (attributed to Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Paul Jabara and “others” in the playbill) is wonderfully entertaining and certain to unleash a flood of memories for audience members of a certain vintage.

Debate: Baldwin vs Buckley is an extraordinary recreation of A 1965 televised debate, Glass Town is a fun rock concert with a Bronte band, The Life gets reworked for Encores! and an O'Neill drama involving Andrew Jackson may be seen differently today.

Beginning last night, March 14, the Broadway production of SIX welcomed Keri René Fuller in the role of Jane Seymour, Joy Woods as Catherine Parr, and alternate Hana Stewart to the cast. Fuller will remain in the cast while Abby Mueller takes a medical leave of absence. Stewart will serve as an alternate for the Broadway cast now through April 10.

Red Bull Theater today announced the cast for the online benefit reading Margaret Cavendish’s The Convent of Pleasure, presented in collaboration with R/18 Collective. This benefit reading in celebration of Women’s History Month is “Pay What You Can.” All of Red Bull’s current online-only programs are FREE.
