3 Broadway Shows Close This Weekend
Cats: The Jellicle Ball, Every Brilliant Thing, and Death of a Salesman will take their final Broadway bows.
This weekend, Broadway says goodbye to three productions. Cats: The Jellicle Ball takes its final bow at the Broadhurst Theatre following 21 previews and 141 regular performances; Every Brilliant Thing concludes its limited run at the Hudson Theatre after 22 previews and 169 regular performances; and Death of a Salesman concludes its run at the Winter Garden Theatre after 36 previews and 131 regular performances. The Winter Garden will soon be home to Evita and The Hudson will house Other Desert Cities. The next tenant at the Broadhurst Thatre has not yet been announced.

Cats: The Jellicle Ball, the Tony Award-winning musical revival, officially opened on Tuesday, April 7 at the Broadhurst Theatre. It went on to receive nine Tony Award nominations and won three: Best Direction of a Musical (Zhailon Levington & Bill Rauch), Best Choreography (Omari Wiles & Arturo Lyons), and Best Costume Design of a Musical (Qween Jean), marking the first time in history an openly trans woman won Broadway’s highest honor.
CATS: The Jellicle Ball has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and is based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot.

Every Brilliant Thing has been performed across the globe in over 80 countries on stages of all sizes, including a hit production in London’s West End in 2025, which transferred to the Hudson Theatre on Broadway, where it opened on Broadway on March 12, 2026. The production originally starred Dabniel Radcliffe, followed by Mariska Hargitay, and now Tracee Ellis Ross.
Every Brilliant Thing is an exhilarating and heartwarming play, in which its central character looks back at their life and the glimmers of hope that carried them through—all told through a list of every wonderful, beautiful, and delightful thing that makes life worth living. Written by Olivier Award nominee Duncan MacMillan with Jonny Donahoe, and directed by Olivier & Tony Award nominee Jeremy Herrin, Every Brilliant Thing is a one-of-a-kind solo show that creates an electric, communal energy between performer and audience, no matter the venue.
Every Brilliant Thing was honored with 2026 Tony Award nominations for Best Revival of a Play and Best Leading Actor in a Play (Daniel Radcliffe), Drama League Award nominations for Best Revival of a Play and Distinguished Performance (Daniel Radcliffe), and won an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Solo Performance.

Joe Mantello's acclaimed Broadway production of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman opened at the Winter Garden Theatre on April 9, 2026. The star-studded cast includes Nathan Lane, Laurie Metcalf, Christopher Abbott, and Ben Ahlers.
The production picked up several Tonys win at this year's ceremony including Best Revival of a Play, Best Featured Actress in a Play for Laurie Metcalf, Best Direction of a Play for Joe Mantello, and Best Scenic, Sound, and Lighting Design of a Play for designers Chloe Lamford, Jack Knowles, and Mikaal Sulaiman). It was the most nominated play of the year with 9 Tony Award nominations.
Death of a Salesman has been one of Broadway's most celebrated plays across multiple productions. The original 1949 production won six Tony Awards, including Best Play, Best Author of a Play for Arthur Miller, Best Director for Elia Kazan, and Best Featured Actor in a Play for Arthur Kennedy.
