Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced Andrea McArdle and Donna McKechnie: Celebrate Sondheim & Hamlisch on Monday, July 8 at 8 pm as part of Bay Street Theater's Music Mondays concert series. Tickets range from $79 - $125 and are on sale now at baystreet.org and through the Box Office at 631-725-9500, open daily from 11am to showtime.

Andrea McArdle debuts a brand new show at Feinstein's/54 Below on Thursday, June 20 - 22, 2019! During this very special run she celebrates The Great American Songbook, Broadway, and contemporary music. With Andrea's soaring vocals, audiences will be taken on a musical journey filled with reminiscing and anecdotes about the legends she has met and worked with and the songs that became the soundtrack of America.

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston opens its 51st summer season with Mame from June 13-23, 2019 starring IRNE and Norton Award winner Leigh Barrett as "Auntie Mame, " an irrepressible 1920's socialite whose New York life is changed forever when her orphaned nephew comes to live with her. Additional featured cast members include Maureen Keiller as 'Vera Charles,' Katie O'Reilly as 'Agnes Gooch', and Mark Linehan as 'Beauregard Burnside'. I thought throwing out my Annie CDs would be easy--I thought I only had one! Obviously that would be the indispensable Original Broadway Cast Recording with Dorothy Loudon and Andrea McArdle. How wrong I was! I knew that, as a kid, I had the tape of the 1982 movie soundtrack with Carol Burnett and Aileen Quinn (and an all-star supporting cast!), but I didn't remember buying it on CD. And when the hell did I get the CD of the 1999 TV version (with Kathy Bates and an all-star cast)? And, oh yeah... I forgot about this studio album from the 90s with studio cast queen Kim Criswell--I think I bought back in the day somehow convincing myself Ruthie Henshall was playing Annie. (Spoiler alert: She plays Grace.) Oh, and I do remember this '30thAnniversary' deluxe production with Chicago area diva (and original star of the sequel, Annie Warbucks) Alene Robertson as Miss Hannigan plus a lot of bonus material. To add insult to injury, I also have a Blu-Ray of the recent Hollywood remake with Cameron Diaz. I don't even have a Blu-Ray player! This thing is definitely going into the trash along with all the audio, but I will listen to a few tracks online for my edification.

This week's decluttering is only freeing up a tiny bit of space in my collection, but it represents an enormous place in my heart. The only version of The Wiz I have on CD is the AMAZING/IF YOU DON'T KNOW IT, YOU'RE NOT A REAL BROADWAY FAN original cast album starring Stephanie Mills. I do have the movie soundtrack in my iTunes and the soundtrack of 'The Wiz Live!' is on Apple Music, so let's dive in.

Three-time Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello will make a rare concert appearance and her long-awaited Bay Area concert debut at the historic Orinda Theatre as part of the Live At the Orinda concert series.

On Jan 26th, 2019 NEWSical The Musical, the 10th longest running Off-Broadway show and 3rd longest running musical revue in NY history, will be celebrating its 3000th performance at Theatre Row.  To celebrate the milestone the show will be receiving a proclamation from Speaker of the City Council, Corey Johnson, as well as a proclamation from the New York State Assembly.

Andrea McArdle and Donna McKechnie, two of Broadways most endearing leading ladies, who starred in two of Broadway's most iconic shows (Annie and A Chorus Line) will bring their ever vibrant talent and personal connection to this celebration of two of Americas most beloved musical theatre composers: Stephen Sondheim and Marvin Hamlisch.
