BIO

Angela Ortiz is a music director, pianist, orchestrator, arranger and composer. Broadway: Broadway: Buena Vista Social Club (pianist) Off-Broadway: Much Ado About Nothing at The Public Theater (music director) The Paper Brigade (Segal Theater at the CUNY Graduate Center) Regional: Carnaval of New Latinx Musicals (Latinx Theater Commons/La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego, CA) Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 (Pace University, NYC). She can also be seen music directing and playing piano at Green Room 42, Joe's Pub, 54 Below, Teatro Latea, and the Ziegfeld Ballroom and amongst others. Arranging/Orchestrating: Chasing Grace Cast album (Off-Broadway debut in March 2026 at the Mezzanine Theater - A.R.T/New York). Composing: Olivia O. (2024 & 2025 NAMT recommended musical). As a pianist Angela has toured extensively, performing at The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and The Blue Note, amongst many others. Angela holds B.Mus from NYU with additional studies from Berklee College of Music in Orchestrating and Arranging music from the Caribbean and Latin America. She is also a member of the BMI Musical Theater Advanced Workshop.
