KATIE HARTMAN is a multi-disciplinary theatre-maker and co-artistic director of the Coldharts, an international touring theatre company that creates ensemble-devised, new music-theatre inspired by the American Gothic. Since 2012, Katie has co-created, performed and produced four new works with collaborator and fellow co-artistic director of the Coldharts, Nick Ryan: THE LEGEND OF WHITE WOMAN CREEK, a one-woman folk opera about love, betrayal and revenge on the American Frontier, sung by the ghost of Anna Morgan Faber; EDGAR ALLAN, (Best Female Performance/Best Show, 2016 Orlando Fringe) and EDDIE POE, each a stand-alone one-act and a two-person, musical adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's short story, "William Wilson;" THE UNREPENTANT NECROPHILE, a three-person, all-electric, punk rock opera about a mortician and her body. Recent New York credits include Bread Arts Collective's RISE AND FALL and 3 Sticks' new folk opera, VESTIGE, both at the Brooklyn performance space, Cloud City, and BARDS at Dixon Place. Past collaborations with 3 Sticks have included THE TRAVELING MUSICIANS at NY Frigid Festival and LE GOURMAND OR GLUTTONY! at the 2011 New York International Fringe Festival; in addition to performing, she also acted as producer, co-creator and designer. While living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Katie worked with Four Humors Theater Company, Bedlam Theatre, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, and on the main stage of the Brave New Workshop Comedy Theater. She is a founding member and producer of the Twin Cities Horror Festival. Katie received her BA in Theater Arts from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.
