Two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Branden Jacobs-Jenkins has made his television debut with a series adaptation of Octavia E. Butler’s seminal 1979 sci-fi novel Kindred. BroadwayWorld caught up with Jenkins, who is known for his plays like An Octoroon, Gloria, War, Appropriate, Neighbors and Everybody, to discuss the new series.

 Written by Chad Law (Drive Hard), Josh Ridgway (Howlers) and directed by Christian Sesma (Vigilante Diaries), SECTION 8 stars Ryan Kwanten (“True Blood”), Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables), Dermot Mulroney (“Hanna”), Scott Adkins (John Wick: Chapter 4) and Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler).

The new film is written and directed by Ivan Sen stars Ryan Kwanten, Hugo Weaving, and Jillian Nguyen. Ryan Kwanten (“True Blood”) and Hugo Weaving (The Matrix series) star in this futuristic thriller about a hitman who meets a mysterious woman and comes down with a deadly illness. Sony Crackle announced today that Grammy-nominated artists Christina Milian and Leona Lewis and actress Zulay Henao ('Meet the Blacks 2') will join the cast of season two of its original drama series 'The Oath,' from executive producer Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson and his G-Unit Film and Television Inc. and creator/executive producer Joe Halpin. Additionally, actor and director Kevin Connolly will guest star and direct multiple episodes for the gritty drama series. Production for season two of 'The Oath' has commenced in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Archstone Distribution has acquired worldwide rights to the new thriller film BEACH HOUSE, which was directed and co-written by Jason Saltiel.  Co-written and produced by Matt Simon, and executive produced by Ben Barenholtz, BEACH HOUSE stars Willa Fitzgerald, Murray Bartlett, Orlagh Cassidy, and Tom Hammond. Andrew van den Houten of 79th & Broadway Entertainment is also executive producing and handling sales. The film is set to be released in theaters nationally on June 22nd.
