Chashama Gala 2021 is a Welcome Back to Arts and Times Square

As a Board member, I am thrilled that the Chashama Gala, Art Party, and the new Chashma-Rama events were in person this year. The parties stretched over two days at 6 hours each and over a thousand of New York’s most forward-thinking landowners, corporate executives, arts professionals, and innovative creators strolled through the interactive installations and wandering performers. It was a celebration of the return of live events and Times Square.

On Monday, March 2nd, pop art icon Peter Max showcased a series of 27 portraits of Frank Sinatra throughout his esteemed 50-year career. The exhibition was attended by Nancy Sinatra, and her daughter Amanda Erlinger and kicked-off the yearlong celebrations being held around the world for Frank Sinatra's Centennial. Geoffrey Bradfield, Barbara and Donald Tober, Gillian and Sylvester Miniter, Eleanora and Michael Kennedy and Ambassador John Loeb and Sharon Handler Loeb co-hosted a special VIP Preview of acclaimed celebrity and society photographer Annie Watt's Impromptu Portraits at the prestigious Galerie Dumonteil on Park Avenueand 57th Street on Tuesday to benefit the American Heart Association. The incisive images of celebrities, political figures, designers and society's elite filled the walls of the elegant gallery. The images were presented in a variety of sizes and formats, classic 8 x 10, Oversize and snappy Polaroids and many were scooped up by the attendees.

On Wednesday, September 5 at 7:30pm at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place), dance icon Mikhail Baryshnikov will be honored at the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation's "Bright Lights Shining Stars" Gala where he will receive their prestigious Ambassador for the Arts Award which will be presented to him by longtime friend and colleague Liza Minnelli. Last year's Ambassador for the Arts Award recipient, celebrated American singer, songwriter, musician and four-time Grammy-winner Roberta Flack, will also be present on 9/5. Also set to appear that evening will be ABT star Julie Kent, Oscar-nominee and celebrated dancer Leslie Browne and Tony Award-winning choreographers Jerry Mitchell and Andy Blankenbuehler.
