Soulpepper Theatre will launch its 2024 season with two highly anticipated productions: the Toronto premiere of Casey and Diana, by Nick Green and directed by Andrew Kushnir, after an acclaimed sold-out run at Stratford Festival in 2023; and the World Premiere of De Profundis: Oscar Wilde in Jail adapted and directed by Gregory Prest with original music and lyrics by Mike Ross and Sarah Wilson.

Nick Green’s Casey and Diana, which had a triumphant première directed by Andrew Kushnir at the Stratford Festival last May, is now available for home viewing on Stratfest@Home, the Festival’s subscription-based streaming platform.

The project kicks off with the bombastic floorfiller “Before the Rap,” which arrives with an equally intense video. The world premiere of Nick Green’s play CASEY AND DIANA had its opening night at the Stratford Festival’s Studio Theatre on Thursday. Twice a year the Cole Foundation's Intercultural Conversations-Conversations Interculturelles (IC-CI) program disperses hundreds of thousands of dollars to support professional Montreal theatre companies who produce, commission and translate plays that show diversity on stage.
