Mark-Eugene Garcia is an award winning playwright and a proud member of the Dramatists Guild and A.S.C.A.P. He is a graduate of the City College of New York and studied book and lyric writing with the Academy of New Musical Theatre in Los Angeles and the BMI Lehman Engle Musical Theatre Writing Workshop in New York.

His works include EIGHT TALES OF PEDRO (UnFringed Festival 2018 Best of Festival Award Winner) , STANDBY (Towle Theatre, New York International Fringe Festival- Encores Selection, New York Musical Theatre Festival, Next Link Selection), THE HOLY COWS OF CREDENCE SOUTH DAKOTA (PCTF- Outstanding Book of a new Musical and/or Play with Music- Nominee), FACING EAST: A NEW MUSICAL (Vancouver Ovation Award Outstanding New Work- Nominee), and (UN)MISSED CONNECTIONS (Jacob Weiser Playwriting Award for a Fully Realized Drama). His short works include WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR , ONE NIGHT AT THE GOLDEN BOOT, INSCRIPTIONS, and KEYS.

Mark-Eugene currently stars as Detective Mark Besim on Sidekick Productions new show DEMON DOCTOR as well has a reoccurring role as Simon on SKELETON CREW. Previous TV and FIlm roles include the original cast of ENCORE! on ABC with Kristen Bell, STRAPPED FOR DANGER (Danny), WASTED ON THE YOUNG, (Mateo), BLISS (Daniel), NOCTURNAL FURY (Charlie), and ALEKSANDR'S PRICE (Michael) THE MESSAGE BOARD (Charlie), and PIONEER ONE (Dr. Richard C. Hadfield) as well as commercial work for Jenny Craig. ​

​Mark-Eugene's stage roles vary from New York to California, including the shows INTO THE WOODS (The Baker), THE UNDERPANTS GODOT (Mark) , A STRANGE AND SEPARATE PEOPLE (Jay Berman) (Winner- Seymore Peck Award for Sustained Excellence), THE TAINT OF EQUALITY OR I WANT YOUR SEX (Javier Pena), SIX SILENCES IN THREE MOVEMENTS (Sean), THE FULL MONTY (Teddy), LEAVES OF GRASS( soloist) HAMLET (Horatio), THE BOYS IN THE BAND (Larry), CITY OF ANGELS (Pasco,Eugene, Munoz u/s), TOYSOLDIERMARK at Fao Schwarz and many performances at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure.

Mark-Eugene is a dramaturg with the New York Musical Theatre Festival. In 2017 he worked with the musical TEMPLE OF THE SOULS. In the 2018 Festival he was dramaturg for EMOJILAND and ILLUMINATI LIZARDS FROM OUTER SPACE. He was the dramaturg for ILLUMINATI LIZARDS FROM OUTER SPACE and KAFKA'S METAMORPHOSIS in New York Musical Festival 2019. In 2020, Mark was dramaturg for Fresh Fruit Festival's reading of PARTITIME by Gregory Marlow
