The mainstay of Sydney’s high summer season, Sydney Festival, sails back this January with a first class line-up of World Premieres, extraordinary immersive experiences, cutting-edge public art, Australian exclusives, free events, trailblazing First Nations programming and an epic live music offering. 

Brisbane Festival and Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) will stage the world premiere season of BANANALAND, a musical comedy by two of Australia’s most talented contemporary composers and featuring a stellar cast and creative team.

Brisbane Festival, in association with Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), has announced it will stage the world premiere season of Bananaland, a brand-new musical comedy by two of Australia’s most talented contemporary composers. 

The work of Geller, Koyfman, and Goldenberg to be featured in Women of The Wings Volume 5 - March 4, at 54 Below.

Following a triumphant Australian premiere, Global Creatures(producer of Moulin Rouge! The Musical) will present the New York lab of Muriel's Wedding The Musical, which kicked offSeptember 15 and continues September 16.

Starring Christie Whelan Browne as Rosalind and James Mackay as Orlando, this joyous rendition of Shakespeare's greatest rom-com is the latest addition to MTC's growing catalogue of filmed productions, with more to be released later this year.

Following their smash-hit collaboration on Twelfth Night, director Simon Phillips and musicians Kate Miller-Heidke and Keir Nuttall reunite for another spectacular slice of Shakespeare; the big-hearted comedy As You Like It, opening on Thursday 18 November at Southbank Theatre.

Global Creatures will be holding a 12-day developmental lab of Muriel's Wedding in February, 2020 in New York City. The developmental lab will culminate in a private reading.

Kate Miller-Heidke is a renowned singer/songwriter who sang an impressive repertoire of songs featuring different operatic runs and tricks. Her impressive vocal range and control was evident from the first song, hitting notes with such ease that she left the audience with their jaws dropped. Highlights from her set included 'You've Underestimated Me Dude', 'Caught In the Crowd' and her haunting rendition of 'Sarah' which still gives me goosebumps whenever I listen to it. Her husband and co-singer/songwriter Keir Nuttall's improvised guitar solos were something I found myself craving more of and her back-up singer Jessica Hitchock literally had the voice of an angel. Overall, the set had the perfect combination of songs new and old, flavours and textures. Well done Kate and team.

For one night only join Austria's greatest glam pop vocalist along with Australia's queen of cabaret in an evening to remember.  Eurovision legend Conchita Wurst returns to Australia with dear friend Trevor Ashley for an evening of musical magic.  Joined by conductor Michael Tyack and a 40-piece symphony orchestra, they will perform their greatest hits, alone and together, in Sydney as part of Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras at the State Theatre on Thursday 27 February and in Melbourne at Hamer Hall on Friday 28 February. Australian singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke will also make a special appearance at both concerts.
