CLO's Spark program has a large-sized hit with the latest small-scale musical it commissioned. As a musical writer, let me just say: it's TOUGH to launch a new musical. The best thing you can do is have a company commission a show from you based on your pitch, otherwise you're going to have a long, difficult but hopefully rewarding journey as an indie theatre creator. (Ask me how I know!)

Pittsburgh CLO’s Kara Cabaret Series presents a world premiere rom-com musical of the future; it’s 2063, and love is about to get an upgrade! David Rossmer & Dan Lipton’s THE PERFECT MATE brings love to life between February 2 - March 17 at the Greer Cabaret Theater.

The Green Room 42 presents a one-night-only concert version of the new musical, Food Fighters. Tickets range from $15-$49. Livestream tickets are also available for those who can't attend in-person.

On May 26, 2022, AR Productions will present an industry reading of “Food Fighters”, a new musical with book, music, and lyrics by Aaron Morrill. The reading will be directed by Joe Barros (Gigi, The Evolution of Mann) and will take place at The Jerry Orbach Theater at the Theater Center located at 210 W 50th Street, New York, NY 10019.

Broadway icon Adam Pascal, a Tony-nominee for his role in Rent, will appear on Friday, January 8, 2021 on It’s Showtime with Rikki Lee, a popular weekly entertainment industry-themed radio show out of Chicago. Hosted by Rikki Lee Travolta, the radio program airs every Friday at 3 PM Central on 101.5 FM in the Chicagoland area.

On Friday, November 27 at 3 PM Central, Jacob Cohen and Holly Weis of Highland Park Players will be the guests on It's Showtime with Rikki Lee – a weekly half hour informational radio show focused on the entertainment industry that airs on suburban Chicago station 101.5 FM. Marriott Theatre opened the smash hit GREASE on Wednesday, January 22nd! The production will close Sunday, March 15th. The Tony Award-nominated musical is directed by four-time Jeff Award winner, Scott Weinstein (Something Rotten!, Murder for Two, Shrek), with musical direction by Jeff Award winner Ryan T. Nelson and choreography by Jeff Award winner William Carlos Angulo.

The Marriott Theatre opens its 45th season with director Scott Weinstein's staging of GREASE, the 1971 musical that was born in Chicago and became a Broadway hit, a famous film and a perennial favorite of theaters across the country. With book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, the show follows sheltered Sandy Dumbrowski (Leryn Turlington) as she navigates social life at Rydell High School, where she's the new girl in the class of 1959. Befriended by a world-wise clique called the Pink Ladies, Sandy soon discovers that her boyfriend of the previous summer, Danny Zuko (Jimmy Nicholas) also attends Rydell and is the leader of a leather-clad gang of a?oegreasers.a?? Pittsburgh CLO will launch its second New Musicals Weekend, a project of the Next Generation Campaign's New Small Musicals Initiative. New Musicals Weekend, the mini version of the SPARK festival, takes the core goals of SPARK and puts them into action over just seven days. New Musicals Weekend aims to develop new musicals for the CLO Cabaret by supporting writing teams with financial and creative resources and by building relationships with local and national artists.
